''NRA Sets 1,000 Killed In School Shooting As Amount It Would Take For Them To Reconsider Much Of Anything''

‘Yeah, Something Like 1,000 Dead Kids,’ Reports Spokesperson

NRA officials said the school would have to be “super, super bloody” after the shooting for the organization to question its pro-gun stance.

FAIRFAX, VA—National Rifle Association Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre said Monday that somewhere around 1,000 kids would have to die in a school shooting in order for the organization to reconsider its longstanding opposition to gun control.''

That still wouldn't do it. What would do it is if one of their own kids was killed.

Or they react like, well a thousand kids means you need a thousand more guns

Am I missing something, or why do you guys engage with this in the most Tier 1 way possible? It's strange to see this on this forum, I feel like a few years ago the covnersations were on a higher level than this.

Ah, the primate instinct activation threat, baby chimps from their own chimp group, then if I understood correctly.

@Leo Gura I hear you bro, I think guns should be banned. But my older brother is a huge gun fanatic, he has like 12 ar-15's. It's like "damn, why you so in love with war machines, ditch the guns and get a girlfriend." He works 70 hours a week at a mine, and he burns all his money on tractors and guns, I try to tell him to invest to have a future, but hey, you can't force sensors to think about the future.

Full account of the shooting and police response from wikipeida

Quote

Prior to entering the school, Ramos reportedly lingered outside for 12 minutes while firing shots.[34] The majority of the shooting occurred inside the building within the first few minutes; Ramos was in the building for 40 to 60 minutes while armed police remained outside the classroom and building.[10] Officers arrived four minutes after Ramos entered the school and attempted to make entry, but decided to retreat after he fired at them.[35] Officers were not successful in establishing negotiations with Ramos.[36]

The United States Marshals Service drove nearly 70 miles to the school and arrived at 12:10 p.m where they helped officers initially confront the shooter, render first aid, and secure the perimeter.[37] After the police cordonedthe outside of the school, parents pleaded with officers to enter the building. When they did not, parents offered to enter the building themselves.[38][39] Officers held back and tackled parents who tried to enter the school, further warning that they would use tasers if the parents did not comply with directions; video clips were uploaded to social media, including one that depicted a parent being pinned to the ground.[40] A parent was pepper-sprayed while trying to get to their child, and a father was tackled. Police reportedly used a taser on a parent who approached a bus to get their child.[34] A mother of two students at the school was placed in handcuffs by officers for attempting to enter the school.[41] When released from the handcuffs, she jumped the fence and retrieved her children, exiting before police entered.[41] An unidentified Texas DPS lieutenant said that some members of the force had entered the school early to retrieve their own children while parents were being blocked from entering outside.[citation needed][40]

After entering the building, Ramos walked down two short hallways, entered a classroom that was internally connected to another classroom, and opened fire on the children and two teachers in the room.[24] All of the victims were located in the fourth grade classroom where he locked the door.[42]

According to a male student who hid in the adjoining classroom, a officer had called out "Yell if you need help!" In response, a girl in the same classroom said "Help", Ramos heard the girl, entered the classroom, and shot her.[43] The student said that the officer then barged into the classroom, Ramos shot at the officer, and then more officers started shooting.[43]

The UCISD police chief estimated that the shooting began at 11:32; according to a Facebook post by the school, the school was locked downat 11:43 in response to gunshots heard in the vicinity.[44] According to a Texas DPS lieutenant, first responding officers had insufficient manpower and were unable to enter the classroom, and they instead evacuated children and teachers by breaking windows around the school.[24][31]

Ramos stayed in the classroom for around one hour, hiding behind a steel door that officers were unable to open until they obtained a master key from the principal.[17] At 12:17 p.m., UCISD sent out a message on Twitter that there was an active shooter at the elementary school.[45] A Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) arrived at the building approximately an hour after the first responders arrived.[46] As UCISD officers exchanged fire with the shooter, BORTAC agents joined them in response to a request for assistance; one sustained an injury.[47] According to Governor Greg Abbott, the injured Border Patrol agent fatally shot him.[48] At 1:06 p.m., police reported on Facebook that he was in custody.[27]

Tier 2 insight would be to have compassion.

Shows us just how silly this idea is that conservatives think you can stop a mass shooter in body armor by arming a few civilians.

I don't understand what your saying. For who? What does this compassion look like?

Compassion for the victims, the shooters, and the polarization that this gun culture is in the USA, which is more a stage turquoise value, where spirituality is more valued.

funny feelings in your chest, also called love.

In tier 2, which comprises a small group and a small percentage of individuals, at that level, they are deeply aware of the depth and complexity of fixing a problem, like gun culture of America, at least vastly aware of it than those in the lower stages, who are not aware of this complexity and depth of the issue.

The gulf of understanding and awareness between tier 1 to 2 is like that of a pond to an ocean, that vast and alien.

Ahhh so conservatives think we need gun education?

Teach everyone how to shoot a gun and stand there growned starting from grade 1.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Not just the use of guns or training to use guns, but about what guns are, the history of guns, how guns are made,  safety measures, training in managing and maintaining a gun, also the statistics of them all, from local grade to military grade guns, all the facts and stats from left to right wing politics, all the pros and cons of gun ownership. make all Americans learn about guns as mandatory for your education. Doesn't matter if your traditional/conservative/patriotic, or moderate or democratic/liberal/progressive/socialistic, all must learn about guns. Learn so much about guns that it actually reduces the need to have guns.

Same with teaching and educating people about sexuality and genders, from grade 1. Saves a lot of confusion latter on.

Right-wingers already have compassion for guns.  What we need is compassion for humans.
