Thoughts on Vivo Life Protein?

9 posts in this topic

Hopefully getting back into shape this summer, this time I want to do it as healthy as I can.

I was thinking of getting vegan protein powers, I remember I heard about Vivo life somewhere before. They're expensive but that's also a little comforting to see, maybe is actually something high quality?

I'm open to others (healthier or cheaper alternatives)

I also want to say, my main motivation is health and reaching normal weight (energy and clear mindedness) but I also want to get in shape because of my young asthetics, It's more about game... I get it but I've never seen a 15 year old kid with a 25 year old woman.

Leo talks about how silly it is to desire asthetics, but it's difficult to get girls your age when you look 5 years younger than them, I happen to be attracted to older more mature woman, so that makes it even worse

As far as I know there's no healthy way to look older, actually fuck looking older I just want to look my age, and it's not just me, my dad got asked for his ID card at 32 when he was trying to buy cigarettes, just to fucking think that a 32 year old man could be below 18 years old, wow... I got sume fucked genes

@Michael569 seems to know what he's talking about.

Looks fine to me. Maybe their Vganics product is the best from a health perspective. Although all their powders seem to be heavy metal tested which is the most important thing. Maybe dive a bit deeper into looking at their testing reports to make sure it all looks good. High heavy metal levels was found to be more common in vegan powders than in non vegan ones.

Now, when it comes to vegan powders there are some pros and cons for the different kinds. The best tasting vegan protein is going to be soy isolate. But that's also the unhealthiest kind. Pea & rice or pea, rice & hemp protein combos are as good as soy protein quality wise but never seem to mix as well nor taste as good. So there's a trade off there. However, pea & rice combo proteins seem to be a lot gentler on the stomach than soy or animal based powders(whey being the worst on the stomach).

It's a good product. I've used it myself many times and recommended it to a few clients over the years. So far I haven't had or heard anyone have a bad experience or some sort of gastrointestinal discomfort which sometimes happens on whey. It is not a soy powder which is preferable and they also add a nice cocktail of herbs and some adaptogens in the mix, not to mention the taste is probably the best I've ever had in a protein.

The cost is a bit of a bummer but frankly, some crappy whey products are starting to be pretty expensive just because IFBB guys are ambassadoring them. You can't go wrong with Vivo. They seem to be a caring brand, do a lot for the environment, invested massively into decomposable packaging and do a lot for the whole plant based movement.

Now the milliondollar question is "do you need it"? It's not gonna magically make you more aesthetic. If you work hard enough and eat enough you probably don't need it and if you don't work hard enough and eat enough they are not gonna help.

In terms of The Game, focus on your approaching skills and your charisma & humour rather than the aesthetics ;)

So I'd say evaluate the status quo and if the cost:benefit ratio is towards pro-Vivo then go for it. You won't regret the purchase, that's for sure. Make sure to use Derek Simnet's discount code to support the guy :)

I tried Vivolife when I saw our boy Michael recommending it. The salted caramel was so delicious.

Unfortunately, it really screwed with my gut somehow.

I came out with consistent cramps while using their products. After discontinuing use, I went back to feeling normal.

So, it's a mixed bag for me. I trust Michael but the product is not for me.

You'll have to be willing to personally experiment on yourself just as I did if you're serious about nutrition. Who knows, maybe it'll be the best product you've ever tried.

Oh and P.S. powders will not make you more aesthetic haha. The visual difference you'll attain through powders is perhaps 1% at best.

Personally, I take protein powders (I have my own brand of choice hehe) moreso for macronutrient balance and frankly, taste.

Alright, I'll try them out.

I'll use the code and give a review here.

I've had some bad experiences with Protein powder but (I think) its mostly because I was using it with milk, I only recently discovered that I'm pretty intolerable of it.

Another question completely unrelated to this @Michael569, What do you think about having a 7 day diet plan that I repeat over and over? I was originally thinking of eating the same thing everyday (for the sake of simplicity and time management) but discovered that its not the smartest thing to do, So I decided to stretch it up to 7 days. You thoughts? The purpose of a protein power (for me at least) is to make my diet simpler, Its unrealistic for me to constantly look for new brands and foods to meet my nutritional and caloric needs.

I plan on eating these potentially everyday: 4-5 Eggs (per day), lead Chicken, 50-100g Rice/Quinoa, Vegan protein + Bananas. and frozen vegetables (Which I will switch everyday because they're all quite healthy)

Just so that I wasn't clear: I plan on eating the foods I listed above everyday just to meet my basic caloric needs. The rest of the food will vary everyday.

Generally, as long as there is a decent variety of foods and food groups, repetition isn't an issue. The foods you listed are protein and carb sources but it is important they are surrounded by a huge abundance of fibre-containing vegetables, legumes, fruits and whole grains as well as good sources of PUFAs and MUFAs.

If the repetition plan is based on eating everything you need and having at least 30 different types of foods on weekly basis then you're probably fine.

But it's kinda hard to comment with the limited info I got from you. I saw you mentioned you're 15? At such young age it is also important not to put strict restrictions on your diet as you want to make sure your tissues will develop properly.
