Although you were sarcastic, @Old Soul, you were still right about the purpose of life: to enjoy it. But the thing is that I couldn't really enjoy it until I knew who I was. :)

I wasn't even sarcastic

I don't think that living in ignorance is enjoyable. But, hey, maybe it works out for you! :))

"Villagers in a far-off land wanted to capture monkeys. So one ingenious person thought of cutting a hole in a coconut and stuffing peanuts in it. Then he placed the coconut in a tree frequently visited by monkeys.

Letting Go Story Lesson

Within minutes of putting the coconut in the tree, a monkey wandered by, smelled the peanuts, crawled up the tree and put his hand inside the coconut. As villagers approached to nab the monkey, the monkey couldn’t climb down the tree because he was clutching the peanuts inside the coconut and his hand was stuck. If he had let go of the peanuts, he would have made a quick getaway. The monkey got caught.

Aren’t we all like that monkey? We’re stubborn and hold on to beliefs that cause arguments with others. We like to be right. We like to think others think we’re right. Clutching peanuts and not letting go causes us a lot of troubles in our lives.

Instead of behaving like the monkey, we could occasionally open our minds to conflicting beliefs, listen to others who say things that upset us and stand up for causes that might help reduce anxiety and suffering in the world."

Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?

It was pretty enjoyable for me for most of my life, the only unenjoyable parts where when I started enlightenment work. But if someone ever hands me dmt and tells me to take it, why not. I am not that stubborn, but searching for it, taking the risk of getting caught, spending money for it..nah, too much work. Even getting hold of this shit is too hard. Then I think actual meditation might be more practical

So you basically took it as a quick fix, the lazy mans way of avoiding the hard work? To me it's like skipping the whole adventure, the whole film, the whole game and just getting instantly to the ending, to the reward.

I have nothing against instant gratification and quick fixes, I often take the cheap route or the lazy mans approach to things, but especially in this case this ain't right in my eyes...not wanting to work on your midnfulness and not wanting to meditate for years. I dunno man...and you still don't know what you have got there. Your brain on chems, you really had a glimpse of the truth? Or were you just dreaming, or halluzinating? People with near death experiences often think they see what happens after death, see the afterlife...and people think they actually leave their body and astral travel....but the truth is both are wrong, they are merely dreaming. Lucid dreaming at best.

I would not skip the hard work. Sure take drugs as much as you want, but actually do the work...just to make sure you know.

To quote Allan Watts here (Im gonna be paraphrazing a lot).

A man comes to a Zen master
"Teach me enlightenment and happiness"
Zen Master answers
"You are already elinghtened"
"No!! I am not!! I need to reach spiritual attainment"
Zen Master looks with a slight intrigue in his eyes
"Oh so you're one of thoose!"
And laughs.

Nothing against hard work.
But NOBODY SAYS you have to do the hardwork to attain enlightenment. One of the reasons many people do the work is because they believe they have to do the work, and that eventually gets in the way and they keep seeking and seeking for years! And tripple or quadruple their unenlightened time in this lifetime.

So you took on the identity of the spiritual seeker. That is fine of course. Just be aware that you did so. :-)

Seems like it. It's not always easy to be aware of the identities you take. And of course you can't have someone like you who reminds one of it everytime you take on a new identity. I might drop this identity again and I hope next time I will be aware of what identities I take on. And I must say I take on quite a lot of different identities over the years. They can even switch in seconds, depending on my mood and environment and what's influencing me. There are so many identities that I have lost track of who i really am...or was. Maybe I never knew to begin with

@Old Soul The identity search from my own experience is enhanced from very very deep emotional wounds. You take on identity because there is a part of you you don't wanna face. You use it as a shield to protect yourself from a lot of emotional pain. Once you spot this mechanism, it is much easier to deconstruct the identity in its origins. However that also means that A LOT of emotional labour follows. That is when I feel "shadow-work" merges with enlightenment work.

That's a common trait on this path. You might have some depersonalization typa symptoms. I've experienced this myself. Didn't know how to react in social situatons. Nothing felt like "me".

There is a huge load I don't wanna face. My protection from emotional pain is working with full strenght, and instead of doing the shadow work I press it all down to a ball and hide it deep inside of me, and ignore it. This is the stuff no one should ever look at, and god forbit it comes out

I have tried meditation and energy work, and maybe it worked on some level, but it took too much time, so I've just quit. Then I had enough of the suffering and I continued with meditation, then I quit again, and so on. But when Leo said, that there is this magic substance that can get you instantly enlightened, I said "This is my perfect lazy way to get enlightened!" :D And it didn't disappoint me, the experience it gave me is not comparable to anything else I have ever experienced. :)

So what I'm trying to say is that we can quit all enlightenment work, but in the end we will always come back, because we know that we don't have to suffer. :)

OU ye! :D The good old depersonalization period. That was the most painful period of my life so far, it was fucking nuts lOL. I am glad I went through it it was a valuable experience, however also (oh god's gonna punish me for this arrogant statement I can feel it =D.) I seem to have developed through it and became in a sense immune to depersonalizations, which is bombastic.

Yep. I often don't know how I should act and I change my mind often enough. "Is this me? Or is this me? What way should I act?"

The guy from shutter island could, if there was no psychologist trying to heal him. So if you guys would be so kind and stop trying to get me out of the lie...then I totally could :P Worked fine so far

@Old Soul @Martin123 yeah, that's the good shit. Feels like pedalling in the middle of the Atlantic. Strangely this lasted very short in my case. Almost starting to think i haven't been depersonalized enough :P

But i reckon that this might be an ideal moment to train your intuition. Everythng will probably start to ' flow' and feel very trusted.

@Visionary It did. I was in a beautiful flow-state for like 60hours straight. ANd then I realized I still have lots of baggage I HAVETO LIKE HAVE TO HAVE TO go through.
So I let go for a bit, and continued healing :-)

@Old Soul you should at least try mushrooms or acid. Trust me, this will give you a major boost in your consiousness and self development work. It will make it easier for everyone to realize their true nature. People underestimate these other substances, because '5meo'  popped out of nowhere after Leo's video's. And making it 'easier' is not really that easy. These substances can smack the taste out of your mouth.

Already recommended it to @Martin123
