Always sleeping

8 posts in this topic

I’ve been on and off the meditation for a few years now. Recently i stopped formal sitting meditations, but instead, i try to be present throughout the day while doing other activities like driving, cooking, talking etc.

I realized that I “sleep” most of the time. Too many things i do without realizing that I’m doing it. It’s like I’m living in the movie and I’m just an actor. This drives me crazy and makes me want be present all the time so I know that I’m actually here and I control what’s going on.

I don’t know what that all means, but i cant just “sleep” and I can’t just continuing playing the movie scenes. I need and I want to be present. When I force myself to be present and not to fall asleep and actually talk to people, it feels weird. It feels new and like I’m a different person. Sometimes i just want to talk to someone who is also present and can share the same experience, that’s why i wrote this here.

That’s all for now, thanks. I was mostly present while I was writing this.

I’m glad you’re cooking :)

I just moved out and I started back up myself, fun, tasty, and sometimes healthy.

Im glad it seems you’re doing the basics too. Sometimes the basics feel that way so we can get them over with and dream a little.

Dream a little.

If you’re taking care of yourself and just feel a dread, you must still have some extra time to yourself if you’re cooking, eating, etc.

Try things, with or without people. Whatever, just dream.

We love you.

Hi.

I practice and live in the present for a couple of years now. It’s my natural state now. If u need help or support i can teach u some tricks.

That's great. I've been doing the same for 6-7 years and it seems like it's a never ending deepening into presence.

thank you!

@SalvijusI like this hashtag #writingthiswhilebeingpresent

and yes, that’s what I want. to be in this natural state. if you have some tricks on that, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

@WelcometoReality you are right, i feel like its deepening over time. I remember Leo compared it to the onion in his video. There are lots of layers. Very Slowly one by one it opens up.

I've found that using different techniques, such as labeling and noting gone, can be effective. If you feel like progress is to slow you could try implementing those.

The trick is to rise the awareness beyond the effort where effort itself becomes observable phenomena. Then being present becomes natural and effortless because u realized that effort to stay present has no impact at all on your presence which is already there prior to your intention to stay present.

If that doesn't make any sense, then just meditate every day and rise your awareness little by little. Formal sitting practices are essential. Maintaining awareness in daily situations is very important as well
