Can spiritual awakening, enlightenment, self realization help me to become a saint?

Can spiritual awakening, enlightenment, self realization help me to become a saint, virtuous, Holy man?

Can spiritual awakening, enlightenment, self realization help me to leave bad habits, bad actions and do only Good Things?

How do I get rid of my bad habits (for example over-eating, watching porn, masturbation, etc..) after Self Realization?

And how do I live as a very Good, kind, loving, virtuous and a Holly Person, After The Self-Realization / Spiritual Enlightenment?

Edited by Muhammad Jawad
I got one more relevant question.

saint and sinner are external recognition ... the only true virtue to cultivate is awareness ... you can kill with awareness and it is perfectly fine and fitting ... contemplate how you can raise your awareness and implement it ... this is the holy life

what you say sounds completely egoic. Why do you want to be a saint? to finally be able to self-approve? Find first where that need for validation comes from, overcome it completely, and then consider going deeper. using spirituality as a crutch to gain self-esteem does not work

@Muhammad Jawad You can practice saintly qualities without being enlightened.

If you have the opportunity give selflessly to the people around you then do what you can to benefit them and make their lives easier.

I remember hearing something that Ram Das said that encapsulates the idea well.

I'm paraphrasing: "Ram Dass asked his guru what is my path to enlightenment... he said always be at the service of others"

It could be recognized that the only thing that wanted to become a saint were patterns of conditioned thoughts.

That recognition can happen anytime anywhere spontaneously!

I would advice you to use your own question you ask in this topic. Let that question fuel you and your search from the deepest place. You should want this so bad, that you're willing to give up everything for it. Even the need for being the saint itself in the end. That's much more pure and authentic way than brittle methods like : who is aware? Those methods won't do much. It is that desire that needs to be fueled and at the last burned in the fires of Truth in your heartspace.

Think of self realization as uncharted territory, an entirely different framework.  So you don't even know if any of your questions make sense in the context of this new framework.  Don't put the cart before the horse.

Right. Thanks a lot for your response @gettoefl.

To live a peaceful happy life and get me on the secure side if there is a Hell in the afterlife.

Yes, that is the reason as well.

But Life does not unfold how our Ego wants and then it unfolds differently, then we face failures that cause suffering and I want to get rid of suffering as well.

Yes, that's true but that realization is making me a bad person.

Yes, I want to lose bad habits. Will Self Realisation help me in this matter?

Well that clear realization would be the end of the conditioned idea of good and bad.

But that doesn't mean that the body would become ignorant of the fact that if it doesn't follow societies rules it can be thrown into jail or cause relationship disruptions and such.

Honestly a lot of weird things can happen.

If you have someone that can keep an eye on you and simultaneously let things unfold for you, that would be a good option.

There isn't exactly any one solution I'm sure you have realized.

Can you give a few examples of "weird things"?

Thanks

As i said before, it's egoic. It's not bad, or good, it's egoic. Why? Because you, the ego, are using the possible realization to get advantages. the Christian and Muslim religions (from your name I imagine you have been educated in the latter) manipulate the ego with promises of reward and punishment. for true realization you have to forget that. you have to be totally integral. that is, you want to open yourself to the truth not because it is better for you, but because it is the truth. However, in my experience, the more open you are to the truth, the more intolerable it becomes to lie or harm others.

Sure!

Still feeling like an awakening happened for you even though you was seen to be a conditioned illusion.

Decisions being made faster and without much effort which can come off as very egotistical.

Feeling stuck between two realities. (awakened & asleep)

Feeling separate and alone even though separation was seen to be unreal.

Wanting to jump on a flight somewhere and start a new life.

Wanting to change your name and identity or wanting to disappear.

Wanting to travel and find others that have had similar experience.

Feeling like I alone know the truth and others are completely ignorant of this truth.

Wanting to do things that felt off limits or wrong prior to awakening.

❤

Thinking about forgetting brings up a lot of fear.
