Freud said this penis envy grows over time and manifests in a daughter's love for her father and the desire to give birth to a son, because those are as close as a woman can get to having a penis of her own.

Is it true that women secretly wish to have penises as Freud said ?  I mean the dude was obsessed with sex and came up with such crazy outllandish ideas ..but is this particular theory of him true ? Do girls secretly wish to have a penis ?

The fetus starts as a female, then either remains female or turns into male, depending on fetus-life hormones. In other words, the same female genitalia can develop into male genitalia in case of high testosterone.

   Well, it seems circular, in that jealousy and envy, as an emotion, signals a lack of quality, behaviour or material circumstance that a envious person perceives when the person sees another person has that which they lack.

   In this context, It's the power play and not wanting the actual penise itself, because most women in history were subordinate to men, creating this power dynamic between the two that makes women, actually, crave to gain more power, but in their own way.

    Also, Freud's brother was the one who influenced much and is the progenitor of making the foundations of marketing the predatory aids we mostly see today.

   Although Freud was a bit of a nutcase and a perv, if you looked at the historical context and saw what was around him, and the collective attitudes then, he was onto something when treating Victorian women from hyper mania and hysteria.
