Sadhguru on Kundalini Yoga

4 posts in this topic

This short video from Sadhguru on Kundalini Yoga really resonated with me. As he says, Kundalini Yoga is the most dangerous form of Yoga and should never be attempted in a social situation, it is strictly for ascetics and renunciates. I was having pretty traumatic flashbacks as to how my life fell completely apart when she rose from the Ajna chakra to the Sahasrara and how this is such a leap of faith into the abyss, which will completely deconstruct your entire being and make you into a different person overnight. If only I had this sort of information available to me 10 years ago, I could have saved myself a lot of trouble.

The video is not available anymore

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

@Benton In general, it should be avoided, like he says, unless you are in some sort of monastic setting with people who know what the hell they're doing giving you guidance.

In my case, I did not practice Kundalini Yoga as such, but, I allowed Kundalini herself to guide me and some of the practices I did are indeed similar to the ones used in Kundalini Yoga and had similar effects. A bit of guidance wouldn't have gone amiss at the time, but I had no idea what i was getting myself into.
