They're both really good on this topic, but also come across as frightened individuals with a belief system to quash the fear... See Bernardo discuss nihilism and meaning, and Rupert surrounding matters of individuality.

It's not major, but to an outsider they might hear Bernardo say he now has purpose in life etc, and think he's clinging to the idea in the way a Christian clings to an idea of heaven.
