How to distinguish You, Ego & God?

7 posts in this topic

There is a thin line between all them or maybe ultimatly all of them are the same. But still there can be the problem of the Ego thinking it is God when in reality its just faking it. Because It is said that You are the Ego and God is You (this reminds me of the babuskha dolls). How can we distinguish them better and see better trough our own illusions?

Well, you can create a distinction between Consciousness and Ego/Mind. But this will be artificial and limited because Consciousness is the source and nature of all distinctions. Consciousness is Absolute, Infinite and Nothing, so you can't distinct it from anything at all. It isn't finite, has no parameters, and cannot be in relationship with anything. Ego is a collection of thought forms that persist. The ego "traps" Consciousness under the illusion that it is the Ego. So what you actually looking for is awakening - becoming conscious of the nature of reality, and dispelling the illusion of the "I" thought that pretends to be someone. Keep in mind that ego cannot think. Thought doesn't have the capacity to think of themselves. That is a function of Consciousness. So you see, ego is the persistence of specific conceptual identity - made of thought forms - that Consciousness believes itself to be or identifies itself in.

This is my understanding:

Ego is a concept in your mind of being something that is separate from everything not you.
You do not exist, all that exists is this current experience.
God is this present experience with the consciousness set to infinity.

There is only God.

To this day I have not been able to find an ego

I am Physically Immortal

I am also more than God :)

Yes good point. A big difference between the thought "I am God" and the direct recognition of God. It's like a character in a movie would say that it's the whole movie. Each character has a part to play but none of them are the whole movie.

Ultimately God is silent, it would never occur to God to proclaim it is God.

You=God. "Ego"=A distinction that you, God make within yourself. You call some things "ego" and some things "not-ego." This distinction is imaginary. In truth there is no ego, only you, God.
