Benefits of no fap for women?

66 posts in this topic

I see a good amount of posts about no fap on here and I also have a few friends who are doing this so I'd like expand my knowledge on this subject. My understanding is that porn addiction and masturbating too frequently can lead to loss of energy/motivation and low self esteem. If you're doing no fap, would you say this is accurate? How long until you felt the benefits of no fap? Does no fap mean no sex too?

Most content I've read seem to be targeted towards men but I'm curious if there are any benefits for women. I don't watch porn at all but I do masturbate 2-3 times a day depending on how much free time I have. This number seems quite high when I compare with my friends. I've never noticed any negative effects but it's possible I'm just unaware of them because I've been doing this for so long. I'm interested in giving this a try if there are some potential benefits.

@Tudo

I see. I don't think I've ever taken a break longer than a week or two so I'd still like to give it a try, just to see what it's like. The most intriguing part of no fap that I've read has to do with energy benefits. I find myself a little tired sometimes, even with a full night's rest, I'd like to see if that has any correlation to maturation.

In every case you have the advantage of more experience in your body. Every experiment adds to this self-consciousness.

So I really recommend trying it for 30 days.

@Vynce

Does no fap mean to abstain from all sexual activities or just maturation? The name suggests the latter but I just want to make sure. I'm currently in a relationship so no sex would be a bit harder.

@LostStudent The terms is used differently at different places. Most stick with the hardest form. No Fap = No masturbation, No porn, No orgasm.

However, the real benefit comes from the deprivation of easily accessed dopamine. Thats what it is all about. So if masturbation gives you pleasure, cut it out. If watching porn does, cut it out. If sexual thoughts do, cut them out. If I forgot something sexual that gives you easy pleasure, cut it out.

This mechanism forces your mind-matter construct to search for new ways of getting gratification, which usually results in more motivation, creativity and liveliness.

Note that there are many more techniques to enter this "higher energy", like: Water fasting, meditation retreats, social media detox, abstaining from eating greasy, salty or sweet food, ect.

The structure remains the same. No easy dopamine = More motivation to attain profound, deeper gratification

It’s unclear if no fap even benefits men as opposed to just cutting out the porn, and getting the same effects masturbating but just not to porn.

@Raze

Vynce made some good points about dopamine depravation in his post that seem to make sense to me. Do you masturbate without watching porn? Aren't you imagining porn in your mind if you do this?

@Raze Try out both. See what offers more benefits.

It seems that there is this rule to the structure of reality, that everything great occurs when you feel selfless in working for it.

And since nobody knows what selflessness feels like for you, nobody but you can figure that out.

I know guys, who watch porn daily and still remain confident and energetic. They have their weak points somewhere else.

This is a DIY projects. Personally porn consumption is a massive energy killer for me.

Unless you’re addicted to porn I would see no reason for women not to masturbate, unless it was interfering with your life.  Women don’t ejaculate like men so it’s not loosing as much energy.. but yeah idk I thought the whole thing with no fap was about ejaculation sapping your energy, usually it’s body builders or men who lift weights that do it but now it’s becoming more of a thing.
I think if guys could orgasm without cumming thered be no need for no fap lol but maybe I’m wrong.

@Pavement I think this spot on. One of my mentors told me that the issue with tapping is you lose life energy when you ejaculate, but its possible to learn to orgasm without cummung.

I haven't jerked off in 2 weeks since I started doing pc clenches and I realized how much my mood and energy were depleted by masterbation

FAP = friction applied to penis

So a no-fap movement for girls is hilarious.

Masturbation is normal and healthy. Stop stressing over it.

All pursuing of sense pleasure is going to be detrimental to medium and long term happiness, it's well documented in pretty much every spiritual tradition, and now modern neurobiology is confirming what the east has been telling you for many years; see tonic and phasic levels of dopamine and how they are inversely related. The more peak experiences you have (novelty) the lower your baseline.

Anyone saying the opposite is simply ignorant and dumb

Could you possible masturbate infrequently, with no external stimulus (no porn or fantasy), and not have too much negative side effects? perhaps, but overall if maximizing happiness and reaching peak states of consciousness is any goal of yours, then masturbation will naturally disappear... it's pointless

This is interesting, I wasn't aware of energy loss due to ejaculation. I experience a significant loss of energy  after sex, depending on how well rested I am and how long it lasts. This doesn't seem to be the case when I masturbate though.

Sex is also sensory pleasure. Do you think you should abstain from all sexual activities if your goal is to maximize happiness and reaching peak states of consciousness?

Yes, there is no doubt about it, but you don't need to force it, it's a journey

I’d say experiment then.

Sometimes it’s hard to say what will benefit us until we try.
