I worked with @Michael569 and he healed my sibo. I highly recommend him.

You should have a good sense of their quality just by the information that they need to collect to help you heal.

@John Paul When I worked with Michael he had a a few questionnaires to fill out. I could tell right away just on the types of questions that it was going to be geared towards solving the root problem. Going through my history since early childhood and actually trying to find, when the problem occurred and things that might have even started it then. I want to say we worked together for something like 6 months to a year. I am already quite knowledgeable on health myself, but it would not have been easy to pull that off myself.

@Average Investor thanks for comms!

@John Paul it is a good idea to start with your doctor and try to find out what is actually going on. Get either a diagnosis or at least some leads to what might be going on. We actually have a super knowledgeable specialist (GIT medical doctor) on the forum @undeather who may provide way more info about where to start and what to do with the results.

I do work with guys who have gastrointestinal difficulties as well but am not a doctor so can't diagnose you or run any sort of blood tests or stool tests so definitely pay a visit to your MD and consider getting some basic checkup.

You dont just order tests like that.
A good doctor will take a considerable amount of his time to evaluate your patient history. Complex gastrointestinal issues are usually caused by a multivariate set of interdependent causes. Thats why the first step is incredibly important. Yes, your issues could also be "imagined" (like you asked in your other thread), thats called somatisation/hypochondriasis and is very common these kinds of symtoms.

Contact a local provider and find one that feels competent to you.

@undeather I don't really have a patient history, i've been a hippy for a while. and i really doubt doctors in general, i'd like to feel in charge of the direction (somewhat) of the interaction when i enter the office

Patient history means chronologically gathering information about your symptoms and factors that might contribute to them. Thats the first and most important stage in any healing process with a health professional.

You are always in charge of your own sovereignty but you also need to know your personal limitations. A good doctor will take your perferred direction into account - but at the same time, he is the professional and knows much more about medicine than you do. This can be quite difficult in certain situations because sometimes my patients come to me with demands that might harm them in the long run. Doctors are like any other profession: There are excellent ones and some bad apples.

@undeather my lifestyle has been radically inconsistent. junk food, vegan, hard drugs, "cleanses" "juicing", more junk food, play video games all night, alcohol and cigarettes and ecstasy/dubstep, practice yoga/pranayama every day-sober, try to get big and take protein and creatine, pizza delivery driver, working overnight shifts, stressful restaurant job, labor work, "depression" "anxiety" "dissociation", therapy and quickly quitting with some success, psychedelics, psychosis, ADD drugs, girlfriend/no girlfriend, live here/live there etc.

very hard to track "health"

I will go to a doc once i have health insurance again and then i might pop on here and see where you guys are at. I'm ready to be consistent now (for self-actualization)
