It isn't a wonder that the LGBT community has a higher percentage of people that will suffer from a mental health issue, than those that don't belong to the community. Whether it's linked to direct HBT bullying at school which can have a traumatic and lasting impact in to later life, or the more subtle effects caused from HBT language, hiding your identity or being fearful to holding your partner's hand in public. Some people spend years in a workplace without coming out as they fear it may affect their work life - living a lie day to day is both exhausting and stressful.

Do you think marriages between same-sex couples should or should not be recognized by the law as valid, with the same rights as traditional marriages

Yes, they should have the same rights to marriage. I think the reason for suffering mental health among the LGBT community is largely a product of ostracization from society. It is classic causation vs correlation, if you are treated poorly and given fewer rights due to your sexual orientation you are more likely to suffer from mental health, it is not that suffering from mental health leads to it. Just my opinion of course.

yep, it's official (he's gay)

If it turns out I'm actually gay, and all of this ideology was just my way of repressing all of my self-hatred and societal pressure, I will be sure to come back in a couple years and let you know, and give you your big "I told you so" moment xD

Love you buddy (only platonically, for now ;))
