No, but it probably would help.
General life experience is best, though, and a life you can show others that lets them know that you follow your own advice is good.
If I were a customer, I might go to the person with a degree in something related to their work over someone who did not have the degree.

There are paths where degrees help.

Anyone call call themselves a coach. 
 

I’m a certified Qigong teacher and stress coach for example. Certified to teach Qigong and through my experience and results I coach busy professionals to lower stress. 
 

Getting my first clients has been very rewarding. Will make life purpose update soon.

 

You don’t need to be a ‘life coach’ 

you can coach anything you like online and make six figures.

Probably depends on your country.

In my country it counts as mentorship / education outside of school, which can be done with no formal qualifications.

He switched majors and then he graduated a semester early with a philosophy degree and then spent that extra time getting his personal projects together for his video game design career...

Well I did not even finish high school and I could coach you just fine.

Focus on general understanding of the Mind, survival and Spiral dynamics. 

The main problem is that you need direct experience of every stage in order to fully integrate it so this cannot be study, you need life experience, start by getting a job, do pick up, and moving out from your parents home
