On Not Loving the World

''15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father. is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.''

What are you interpretations of this quote?

How could it be misinterpreted?

My understanding is the world is ego, a projection. Vanity, wanting to be special. If you love these things more than consciousness (the father), you are taking the wide gate that leads to destruction. Aka an egocentric existence.

is there a reason that this verse would considered worthy?

the lust of the flesh, flesh, eyes, pride, desires are all god. there is nothing outside of god.

absolutely there's no destruction. destruction appears in your limited perspective.
