I already had a big problem with OnlyFans because its a site that, i see to be, taking advantage of emotionally wounded young men.

Sidenote: Notice how society would rather you be addicted to OnlyFan than be a PUA lol. There is good reason for it in some ways societally spekaing, but as an individual nah.

It's the strangest thing that unhappiness can apparently sell. The more time and money you spend on a website like Onlyfans, the more unhappier you become. At least that's what I would think. It's no coincidence that the drug use, mental health issues and suicides are the highest in the sex work industry.

 

@Knowledge Hoarder  Maybe part of the appeal is that some of their loser followers think that maybe one day she will his girlfriend. By paying a girl like that money makes them imagine an illusory world where they actually have the chance of having a girlfriend.

From what I understand they exploit parasocial relationships, similar to how Cam-Workers (you know what i mean) do. So that is the appeal of it, it's not just entertainment, it has a social aspect to it. I think the bigger creators on onlyfans even hire people to do their DM's for them.

And don't forget, it's usually not just OnlyFans, the parasocial relationships go beyond onlyfans, on platforms like twitch for example.

 

Guys get so attached because they are lonely, or have certain sexuals needs. I think for most human sexuality has a big social aspect to it. We value the interactions with other human beings, knowing that there is another experiencer on the other side. That's my take on it atleast, there are probably more dynamics at play.

There is basically a certain psychological phenomena that is somewhat unique to having a relationship with a streamer or similar. It probably is a bit different from cam-workers, but who knows. I guess we would need people in here who use these platforms and have enough self-awareness to report on this phenomena.

@Knowledge Hoarder  I don't really think it's about how women are treated in that industry. Even if the women are treated as queens, you still probably would not want your daughter to become a porn star or a prostitute.

 I'm talking about fathers in general. The vast majority of fathers, who love their daughters and want the best for them, don't want them to become a sex worker. Even if they are treated well. And yes, that's an assumption because I have not done the statistical sociological research on this, but I'm fairly confident on this assessment.

All sex work does this to some degree, can you elaborate on the distinction between OnlyFans and other sex work?

OnlyFans doesn't seem that corrupt to me, at least not anymore than any other kind of sex market. If anything it's at least safer for the providers because they aren't on the streets.

They are just meeting a demand, even if it is an unhealthy and exploitative one, like alcohol or junk food.

Your feeling is correct because it's not corrupt.  It's in fact, safer for women to do sex work this way because it cuts out psychos and men in person-- that can't take no for an answer and would try some terrible shit to get their way.  Of course they probably get a lot of online hate but that's peanuts compared to some creep stalking a stripper outside after hours.

I feel like a lot of the Onlyfans hate stems from the fact that women can use their bodies and image, to rake in easy money.  Men have big egos (I'm a man, I should know) so they hate this aspect of Onlyfans because they can't stick their dick inside the pixels.  Ironically, it's a very beta stance to take for men to highly dislike the OF concept.  If there was a market to rake in loads of money by posting your dick, you think any of us would complain?  lmao no.

I’m sure there is a level of corruption going on with onlyfans. I do think it does take a bit advantage of emotionally stunted men for sure but I don’t think it’s that bad and I think far worse has happened in the sex work industry. For the most part it’s a legitimate service but it needs to be checked and balanced a bit so things don’t get too out of hand.
