Bodily functions

11 posts in this topic

I'm not aware of the inside of my body so I was wondering about my bodily functions.

Does food I eat gets digested? Does air I breathe goes to my lungs? Does my heart pump blood through my veins?

Does conciousness need any of that to take place or it's not necessary to be imagined at all?

This is something I learned in primary school, lol. Of course.

(Absolute perspective: every appearence is imagination)

@Breakingthewall That seems to be close to the truth. None of those processes are in my direct experience.

@Gregory1 Yes, I also learned about that in school but after learning about spirituality those things can come into question as well.

Well spirituality is simple: "lungs, heart, etc." Is a thought. It is real as a thought - nothing more and nothing less than that. Perceptions of heart, lungs, etc. are perceptions, feelings. Nothing more nothing less than that. There is nothing "behind" the thoughts. What's actual is thoughts, concepts, feelings, appearances. Nothing behind them.

Had a thought or two about this myself.

Digesting food, taking a crap, breathing in fresh air... what's all that actually?

Sensation. Just that.

And whatever you think of it, is just that; a thought.

@ivankiss Yes, really makes you think. If all of this is just a dream, what function does it serve? Just giving you an illusion of survival when in reality nothing happens inside of the body?

It's there for having the illusion of being human.

@Gregory1 Makes sense. But even after you realise that, you still have to follow these illusory rules. Can't escape the survival if you want to continue living in this dream.

It's even funnier. There is no actual body within which nothing is happening. There's literally just sensation, and a thought about it.

Careful not to twist this though... You should still eat well, sleep, be active, ect. It's just about seeing things for what they really are - if you will.

@ivankiss I understand that. I still feel hunger, thirst and tiredness if I don't eat, drink or sleep. I guess the illusion is very persistent, even if all of that are just sensations and thoughts as you say.
