The Suffering Engine

I personally wanted to understand the mechanics that are create suffering. Like what does the engine (like a game engine) does to create the effect of finiteness. 

 

Then I realized, maybe all emotions, beliefs do is make the infinite finite in some way. It's like, when you are sad, you look in the mirror, and search in the sad reflection for happiness. However, no matter how much you search, you can't find it.

 

Seems like suffering kind of narrows your field of consciousness to a certain genre of existence. When afraid, it narrows it down such that all you have is a horror film, fearful thoughts and an overwhelming fear. 

 

So I think the main mechanism of suffering is just the body's ability to limit your consciousness in different ways. And the way it limits them is it makes assumptions that are not true but gives it the ring of truth by limiting the consciousness.

Just like we assume 1+1=2, however, they are just meaningless symbols that we assume to have meaning and then build theory on top of these assumptions. 

 

To get out of this limited consciousness and to give ourselves the opportunity to see more, now that's the fun game.

 

This is my understanding right now, I would love to hear what you think (open to change)! This is my answer to "how is falsehood soo good at disguising as truth?"

the engine of suffering imo is the idea that you are a separate being struggling to survive in a hostile world. this makes you divide everything between good or bad for your survival, and ultimately, you know that everything is a futile effort since you are not going to survive. a deadly and desperate trap

Hmm, I feel that is a consequence of the engine rather than the mechanics of it. Since the real question is, how is the engine creating this duality in the first place.

 create the duality with your constant mental activity. if it stops, there is no more duality, you can do it at any time. duality needs to be actively maintained
