Fear of Being Seen Naked

Most people seem to fear others seeing their body. One of the most common nightmares for kids is one where the child is naked in front of their peers.

God says to Adam; "who told you you were naked?" 

Pornstars are looked down upon, even though they do what everyone loves doing.

Why do humans fear their own bodies?

It's easy to be a pornstar if you were lucky enough to get an exceptional body.

If your body is in the top 5% of the bell curve, you will feel proud showing it off. If you're in the bottom 50%, you will feel insecure.

The real question is - what is nudity or nakedness? 

Does nakedness even exist or is it an illusion?

It's simply not the norm to walk around naked. Anything that isn't a norm in the environment you're living in is felt as uncomfortable.

Possible fears are of judgement because one is insecure or not centered in their appearance.

It's not merely an irrational fear. The reality is that people will judge you on your appearance. It has real survival costs.

If you got nice tits you want to show them off because it helps your survival. And vice versa. Girls who show off their tits earn thousands more. That's just one stark example. There are many others.

If you are identified with the body, with a social image and a social self, than yes, being naked might pose a problem due to the "beauty standards" in our twisted modern culture.

Actually, there is counter culture that works to disseminate this self-esteem and self-image problem. Rainbow communities advocate being naked, together, as a part of the understanding that we are all children of nature. Some workshops, like tantra, might offer peeling this fear gradually and in safe environment. Ultimately, every body is the divine manifestation. Judging it in accordance with socially constructed standards becomes ridiculous when it is seen that everything is God.

Because people ridicule each other's bodies just to fuck with each other as kids and compare each other/them-self to the perfect screen people who get all kinds of praise and yada yada........dumb shit.

Personally? Privacy reasons. Not everyone wants to expose the most private parts of themselves to others, physically or otherwise.
