Andy Cutler's protocol pseudo-science?

6 posts in this topic

Hi there . I became very interested in the heavy metal detox subject . I read the Andy Cutler's book and actually started chelation myself with ALA. Nevertheless, I have read a couple of references on the internet, that refer to the ACC protocol as pseudo-science, and state that no clinical trials have been conducted to support the validity of the protocol.

In my view, ACC seems very coherent and well articulated. To me, it doesn't sound like pseudoscience.

Why isn't it regarded more seriously ?

What do you think about it?

Andy's work on it seems very well researched and put together. The main issue with this kind of stuff is it can be hard to determine the accuracy of the results. Not to mention, I have not found this protocol to be extensively documented and tested on patients. That information could be out there, but I have not seen it. So how it might effect someone in 30 years, might be a mystery. It's great to hear that people have started to feel better potentially with the protocol, but it's likely these people are trying other stuff at the same time. So some of the results could literally just be from them improving their diet or something. I personally could not find a large amount of vouches for the effectiveness, but there are some.

Also, it poses a lot of dangers to people who don't take it seriously. Even just looking in this sub forum there is a fair amount of people who are just going to try to hop into this protocol without doing much due diligence. So, it isn't something that your doctor is going to recommend. It's hard to even suggest something like this, when most people have not done basic stuff like eating healthy foods, drinking clean water, exercising, and having a good nights sleep. A lot of examples are even on here of that.

Society at large cares very little about this kind of stuff. This would not be such a problem if a lot of people cared about toxins, pollution, waste, etc. This would not be something you would have to worry about detoxing if society was more aware and cared about the issue.
