Ideal water filter

7 posts in this topic

I recently watched Leo's video about heavy metals.  I am attempting to change my habit of drinking tap water because I no longer trust it.

I started taking action by comparing the concentration of heavy metals by water bottle brand.  I asked the store management about it and my boss seemed uncomfortable when I asked about the cancer causing materials in our products.  Ultimately, I was under the impression that Core is one of the better brands in that it has the fewest heavy metals and pfas possible.  I bought 5 of the single bottles because the 24 packs are terrible for you.

I continued researching the issue and discovered that bottled water is still contaminated with micro plastics.  Furthermore, it would be very inconvenient to keep picking up single use water bottles every day.  I would like some clarity on what exactly the ideal filter should do.  Apparently, it costs about 600 dollars to replace every two years, so clean water seems very expensive.

What are the materials that need to be removed through the filter?  Which minerals should be added to the water after the filtration?  When should the filter be replaced?

If somebody could describe in theory what this filter should look like, then that would be great.  I don't want to waste my money on an expensive, but useless filter.

We recently bought the type where you pour water into it for tap and then it drains through and you can dispense water out of it. the brand is PUR i dont know if anyone can comment on this brand. there is honestly a visible and taste difference in the water itself though so far.

Yep, microplastics are one of those main causes of cancer and also lower testosterone.

also, don't forget that "fluoride" by being constantly advertised as a good guy element in water is the main cause for cancer and calcification of your pineal gland (a gland that plays a major role in your consciousness work!)

I'm not expert at water purification. you can read the written stuff on box or ask the seller about it.

If you want the absolute purest water, then I think a water distiller could be the way to go. You can get one for under $150 on Amazon, but probably higher-quality ones elsewhere.

Basically it evaporates the water and leaves everything except pure H2O behind, the good and the bad. So you'll need to add trace minerals back to it.

I've heard claims that distilled water is so pure that it will actually leech minerals out of your bones if you drink it without remineralizing for long periods of time. Not sure if there is truth to that or not.

The main downside is it takes a couple hours to distill a couple liters of water, not like reverse osmosis where you just hook it up to your tap and it's always ready to go.

I've bought charcoal sticks. The taste after filtration is much better than the taste of boiled tap water - the hardness is surely gone. I've checked the Electroconductivity (EC) of tap water sample - it was 1150uS and after keeping charcoal in it for 8hrs it was 850uS. I can't measure what it had removed though. But 'internet' tells that it removes heavy metals, chlorides. As I suppose charcoal doesn't kill bacteria
