Do most people enjoy living?

learned accounting and pretty much don't like it at all

i really just want to travel for a few months up to a year and then see what to do after that

I enjoy accounting because I realize that administration skill set and accounting ability is the one skill that will allow me to make my own business in the future. My lack of understanding around money, and administration and realistic etc got me in some trouble.

I know in my heart my music is powerful. People were sending me thank yous, fan mail, telling me they would listen to my live streams for hours over and over again. But, I went through a set back and deleted everything. Didn’t know how to love myself?. Still learning.

lost my footing there with my mental health because I’m a moron

I used to write poems and had people stealing them as their own and people sharing me in poetry circles.

I didn’t realize that I wouldnt feel anything.

I need money for a guitar, op1, some basic recording equipment and my own place without neighbours.  I don’t know. Accounting is good too.

Admin/accounting skills are great life/business skills to have.

Everyone has their own unique path... It seems like you're well on your way to figuring it out now.   ^_^

Here in Belgium I feel like 80-90% of people don't enjoy living.
I go out a lot to meet people, and I see a lot of stressed people & frown faces. Almost everyone seems to be worried when I look at their expressions

Life is pretty easy in our country, we have a lot of social security, we can get money every months for years even if we don't have a job.
and if you really want a job, you can find one quite rapidly.

Here's an interesting list of "Happiest Countries In The World:"  https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/happiest-countries-in-the-world

Note that the countries at the top are places where most people have their basic survival needs met, are actually closest to Spiral Dynamics Stage Green, and have the least corrupt goverments.

So it looks like the "average person" in those countries is relatively happy.
I also think that it helps not to have to worry about basic survival needs as much because it will free up your time and energy to focus on other things in life.

Personally my awareness of who I could be and what my life could be like have not always made me happier.
But it has given me something better. I feel more alive and engaged with life. Like I'm less of an NPC going through life like a "happy" but lifeless robot.

I think that living life like a warrior gives you a deeper satisfaction than "happiness."

What's funny is that many normies can be pretty happy with life.

If your ambitions are low it's not hard to be happy. Get a stable job, go to church, have some kids, watch Netflix, play video games, eat junk food, drink beer, watch porn, go to football games, hang out with your dumb likeminded friends, hate-watch your opposing political party. Live unconsciously. Life is pretty good.

Ironically, strong religion and strong family are some of the best predictors of happiness.

I thought seeking a higher level of consciousness and values and understanding was "living the good life". If being average and "normie" maximized your happiness then why bother do all this self-actualiaztion work?

@blankisomeone It depends from the countries. Just near Belgium we have Netherlands and the difference is huge... People seems a lot more happier there

Being normie doesn't maximize anything. It's just an easy path toward mediocre levels of happiness.

For real?

Dont look at people who live in africa and cant eat, people who have serious diseases, homeless people etc. People who already have a hard time enjoying life

Do look. Don't resist, avert and suppress the truth. Accept that is you, and do what you can to help. If you aren’t situated & able to presently, mindfully plan to when you can. Let it inspire you beyond ‘yourself’. Allow yourself to know yourself as your creation. Take it all in fully.

Quote

Look at it through average persons

In % how would you rate it?

I think 70% dont enjoy living 30%do but maybe im false

That is what aversion via conceptualizing feeling looks like. It usually kicks off with ‘others’ thinking.  Enjoyment isn’t statistical, analytical, or conceptual, but thinking makes it so. Express feeling instead.

It’s very hard to make something of yourself beyond what’s normal. I’m facing a lot of resistance. I think I tend to want to move to fast, but want things to go slower and faster.

I don’t really know how to trust a process I’ve never done before.

Im wondering if learning to teach Qigong was a distraction and waste of time. It’s definitely helped my mental and physical health. So, it was important.

I thought that learning Qigong and accounting was an important combo for building a powerful life skill foundation. Now I’m in an online course to start teaching Qigong online. But, I’m not sure if I want to teach it anymore and maybe it should just be my personal practice. It’s hard to know if I’m weaselling my way out of it or….

I want to be successful and well off financially and in my purpose everyday. I’m here, so I either make it work or live a shitty life or kill myself. I only got 3 options.

Maybe deep down I just want ease, comfort and stability. I haven’t really experienced that. Maybe I need to get that down for a few years first before I dream big or anything like that.

I regret paying for this new course. I should not rush.

Success matters to me. I have this life and I want to go or my life I just find it difficult to see how my actions will benefit me long term.

@ShardMare I'm not enjoying life at all myself. I find myself looking at my own life or at others and thinking they're like tragedies, where humanity is quashed and inhumanity rises. I feel so much guilt when I look at the state of some people. To simultaneously be so sensitive and insensitive.

My state of lamentation and guilt about others aside, I just don't enjoy life. Way too cynical and jaded at this point, reading schopenhauer essays to self soothe but it doesn't resonate. Because I'm actually a very strongly desiring person, so I'm not going to negate the "will to live", that ain't me.

But throughout my life its as though my overthinking mind in being so ultimately solipsistic and nihilistic that it's like I've done a million self flagellation cuts on myself. It's essentially self harm, and I just have too many opposite desires. Well, it will appear I have so many conflicting things under thought at least

The reason I so vehemently express my guilt is because its so repressed yet drives me. Of course its my delusion, but it's a fact of being human to have it.

Hark ye yet again — the little lower layer. All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event — in the living act, the undoubted deed — there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough.

@Thought Art

You don’t know how to handle doubt, because intense discordant thoughts about a separate self arise and cloud. Doubt is an emotion and is the discord of those self referential thoughts. But you’re not quite listening. How loud must the background hum of happiness, of this universe you are being, get?

The way to hold oneself in disappointment, overwhelment & frustration is to refuse to admit and express, that you are feeling those emotions, in regard to what you’re thinking.

The discord and the hum are guidance. But you’re still being a bit ornery, stubborn, and hard headed about beliefs.

@lmfao

It’s not guilt, and my state, lamentation & delusion are concepts, aversion from feeling. It’s jealousy. There are lots of folks enjoying life. I’m one of them, and if I were in your shoes, I’d express hate for this situation, and then anger & the admittance of discouragement, and so on
