I think most people in the US and Canada don't really like their job. I think a lot of people have a lot of stress but enjoy aspects of life.

Paradoxically, I bet the % of people who don't enjoy living in first world countries is higher.

If you live in a poor country you don't have the luxury of wondering if you're unhappy or not. You're just surviving. You work hard all day, then you go to sleep, repeat.

So true. Most folks in developed countries are ungrateful .. thus leading to immense mental, physical, spiritual and emotional suffering.

This is a great question! I would say 70 don’t and 30 do but maybe I’ve just known some unhappy people. ? But it’s also like look at the superficiality of the world.. why would we enjoy living here when everyone is too afraid to show themselves? To open their heart? When we’re afraid of feeling, we are afraid of living. So we have 70 percent of people afraid to really live. Which comes from being hurt once by trying to live because we are not born afraid of life, we learn to be afraid of life. Because it’s not a safe or enjoyable life when most people who make up the society can’t see past themselves/their identifications/ego so now we have an entire society, government, organizations, countries, that can’t see past themselves so we are basically living in a narcissistic world :) haha. Which is not enjoyable to be on the receiving end of.

We act like a narcissist to the rest of the planet so not even the rest of the planet can enjoy life which also adds to the 70 percent.

Oh and then we manifest a virus because it is a reflection of ourselves who acts like a virus to the rest of the world and so now our own reflection of ourselves (because we are living in a mirroring hologram) is killing us off which is also not enjoyable. Hehehe???

@Gianna Yes, in the west I think we are all so disconnected from each other. In third world countries families and villages stick together and are there for each other (the old African saying "It takes a village to raise a child"). In the west we traded religion for individualism and in the process lost community. People in developed countries, we are so disconnected from love and one another. Too afraid to open up to people. You are lucky if you can count on your hand the amount of friends you have let alone people who can listen to your most intimate stories and struggles...We suffer because we are ungrateful and totally unaware of how bad things can be and even if through self education and travel we see how others suffer we very quickly come back to ego and our comfort zones.

Sending loads of hugs to everyone here! ♥️

I think it's 67% positive and 33% negative. But maybe I just meet a lot of happy people :P

What's funny is that many normies can be pretty happy with life.

If your ambitions are low it's not hard to be happy. Get a stable job, go to church, have some kids, watch Netflix, play video games, eat junk food, drink beer, watch porn, go to football games, hang out with your dumb likeminded friends, hate-watch your opposing political party. Live unconsciously. Life is pretty good.

Ironically, strong religion and strong family are some of the best predictors of happiness.

But how can poor people and minorities ever be happy when they have always been constantly oppressed by the social inequalities that are still going on around the world?

The unhappy people are probably more motivated to change things, within themselves and outwardly. Someone can also be happy and not happy at the same time... ie being at peace with their life but also sensitive to the suffering that exists around them.

Part of the problem is that we're not taught how to relate consciously with one another, with respect. Things can easily be exploitative and intrusive when you lack boundary skills or get upset for being on the receiving end of someone wanting boundaries. Even therapists are awarded boundaries, you can only talk to them during the session and you cannot just rant either which some have a tendency to. In my experience members from the family and racial groups are the worst for boundaries, many feel like they own your time and subjugation especially if you're younger/female. At least this is the reason I would shy away from people in general. It's incredibly hard to find people who are respecting of another's autonomy.

Self actualizing individuals require a lot more autonomy than what alot of cultures currently can accept.

@blankisomeone because there are still tons of room for self actualizing and truth seeking, and one cannot really do so with such a stronghold of religion and family they're serving. Basically the happiness is at the cost of growth and truth.

They don't know they're oppressed or they don't fixate on it. They just embrace the challenges.

This SJW stuff actually makes you ungrateful and constantly annoyed with society. Society is never good enough for an SJW. There's always some injustice to wage war on.

If you wanna be happy at some point you just gotta accept the social system for what it is. It's foolish to wish to live in the future. Just accept that you were born in the dark ages of mankind.

You're just on a harder mode of life. :)

I see what you mean. I actually think that all of the progressive YouTube shows especially TYT and Secular Talk have strongly influenced me to feel very depressed and upset about our world, particularly with America.

Though are you saying that poor people, minorities, and oppressed don't need from others or from governments in order to survive and thrive? That's kinda sounding like an American right-wing talking point, no?

Depends when you ask lol. I’d say most people like probably 80% don’t enjoy living.

also the question is more nuanced. Because some people may think they enjoy living but deep down they are suffering
