If a tree falls and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Does universe exist independently of people who might watch it? Or does it appear, only, when someone's looking? I think that's what quantum physics is trying to say, that everything is simply a cloud of possibilities, which is determined only after looking at it?

Should a Universe exist without anyone (any thing) who is aware of it's existence... how would this be different from one that does not exist?
