Looking for a more magical parallel reality, simply means there is some room left for acknowledging how magical things are already. I find that marveling at the simplest things in life with a childlike sense of wonder and awe works wonders. And then eventually we can just be walking down the street for example, but our internal experience might be: "Jesus Christ I'm walking !"  Ecstasy for no reason can then become a natural part of daily life. And gradually most if not all of the lingering dissatisfaction melts away into the background.
