What are the principles for high level decision making?

3 posts in this topic

I’m looking to make a collection in my commonplace book of all the principles of high level decision making so i look forward to your input. As I get ideas for principles I will share them here.

For example recently I purchased a water filter but, i don’t think it met all the requirements I was initially wanting because other factors came into play that lead to the purchase. When I self reflect I realize that my decisions making is complex and that to become a good decision maker will take contemplation, self reflection and direct experience.

life is complex and there are so many areas in our lives which we have to make decisions…

high level decision making is a deep topic. I will contemplate this as my focus this week,

here are 3 concepts to get this started and then I will add more throughout the week.

1. If you are buying something expensive, have a developed protocol sheet that helps you filter through your purchasing process that includes things like procurement functionality, price, options, etc

2. Good decisions are based off of having both theoretical and experiencing foundation. So be honest with yourself about what your foundation is, and compare that to the results you get.

3. Assumptions are a key factor in decking making. Try to limit the amount of assumptions and develop ways of adequately measuring and managing risk. Make decisions. Learn, grow.
