How to become a medium?

I have a friend who can sense ghosts. She hasn’t given it much thought other than being uneasy and scared.

I have encouraged her, saying she’s one among few who can. Told her she should develop her abilities and that she can help people, dead and alive. Help souls who are stuck to move on.

Personally I have no such abilities so I can’t teach her anything. But she says she doesn’t know where to start and needs help.

Can anyone help me/us and point in the right direction as to where to start, get more information or how to practice hearing and communicating with spirits/ghosts?

How do you become a medium basically.

It becomes you rather.

being a medium means that you allow the body to become a vessel for "a greater or higher purpose" rather than to satisfy your petty human needs.

And ofcourse, the method is so simple that it is overlooked,

Notice that in the meaning i said you Allow, 

There is an assumption in the meaning that says that you are already a medium, but are not allowing the body to become the vessel to serve a greater good, but are actively resisting the body from becoming that medium.

The method is, 

Let go, allow the body to be what it is, here and now
