Will God Punish you if you commit Suicide?

36 posts in this topic

@SelfHelpGuy Basically is Like God is very fair but extremely Brutal. He will give you what you deserve. If you continue being a devil you will suffer enormously just because you will be creating your own misery. And God won't save your a**. He will let you suffer until willingly you change your old ways. It's extremely brutal because God will let you go to the depths of hell if you wish to. He won't stop it.  But let's not forget the Goodness. There are always signs from God. And we all know sometimes how to end the suffering but we continue our old ways regardless until we are forced to change by too much pain. Pain is another way Goodness is expressed.

You are god mistaking himself to be this separate unit. The suffering comes from this illusion of being separate. There's only one god that is infinite and it includes everything, including you and me and everyone else. The suffering is simply here to wake you up from this dream of thinking you are a separate unit. There is no one who punishes. The god lovingly allows everything to be as it is. There is no god outside of you, you are the god, infinite awareness in which all of this takes place. The suffering is created by you(god) mistaking to be this body and thoughts.

There will probably be some natural consequences. Like you might regret it so bad that you will have to do a lot of work to forgive yourself. But hey idk. (Btw this wouldn’t be some god punishing you, but just you kinda punishing yourself cuz omg u just killed a work of art prematurely!! Aaaaahhh)

Ps: I’m kinda pulling this outta mah ass. But also some intuition is guiding my thinking here

@SQAAD Don't know what to say to you mate. I spent the last some months going crazy into my shadow and have lost a lot of me in a bad way, it's a miracle I haven't killed myself.

I went the direction of the unconventional, pushing harder and harder autistically to "break the wall". But now I've crashed, I'm probably in a mild schizophrenic or bipolar prodrome. I lost my ability to focus and think, to have a stable self, and no this isn't enlightenment. Lost my intelligence, or my attention is so scattered it can't crystallise into a normal form. Only a few days ago did some semblance of logic come back to me, and otherwise I've just been like an animalistic zombie/mad man, giving the appearance of thought but with no actual conceptual understanding or concentration.

But now I'm surrendering control and I give up in a lot of ways

I'll let reality do what it wants, which seems to mean that I go see the doctor again, take some meds maybe, eat food, socialise more. I've been feeling more positive emotion the past week, but in the back of my mind things play

I have a particular hand, and my parameters for negotiation with the field of reality feel very limiting, but that's the sense I get when pessimistic.

It doesn't feel nice to say, but I've reasoned it out, it truly doesn't matter if you kill yourself. There has to be someone who represents that message, so I'll say it. It just depends if you actually want to kill yourself

Hark ye yet again — the little lower layer. All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event — in the living act, the undoubted deed — there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough.

That's not punishment. That's your own tendencies transferring to the next life. It's just momentum.

The only punisher is you .. via causing physical harm to your body.

Suicide is ultimately mapped to a lack of love, a very severe case of it.

Most times suicide comes from lack of Love but not always. If you end up in a super super extreme shitt* situation with not much hope left then suicide is your only way out. You can end up killing yourself even if you love yourself just bc the suffering is too much to handle and all hope is lost.

Personally I don't really want to ever kill myself because I love life despite the enormous struggle. Generally I don't have suicidal thoughts But when my life gets really really bad then my mind considers suicide as a viable option. I prefer to outgrow my problems and not give up. Still though there is a breaking point. If you pass it then you can end up killing yourself no matter who you are. People don't understand that those who end up killing themselves are extremely extremely extremely extremely extremely desperate. Your body has this self preservation instinct. It doesn't easily let you end your life. The desperation has to be so severe just so you can override your self preservation instincts.

No, God completely understands.

However, you are here to experience the duality, to experience the fear and the suffering and the ignorance and then to develop yourself, transcend it and then maybe if. you choose to inspire and help others through your example.

Light a candle... Be a lighthouse.

Your work is Gods work.

God loves that you suffer and fight for Good. To one day be free of all the suffering.

Ahahaha I can relate. Don't do it man. Your life still has hope otherwise you wouldn't be still alive. Best strategy is improving our lives so we never end up in a terrible situation where we act out from pure desperation. It's tough but hey we are all on the same boat :)

Life is always beautiful despite its super shitt* and uncomfortable aspects.

No because the 'you' is just conditioning and there is no other 'he/she' that keeps tabs on people and organizes the whole punishment thing.

Not sure (nobody is), but Buddhist teachers and those of other religions have said that it does incur karmic consequences. The reason is not so much punishment, but a reaction to the strong aversion present in the mind at the time of self-harm. In that sense, "you" are creating the seeds of the rebirth, not God.

How do you know those Buddishts and religions are just not spreading dogma?

That Karma stuff seems very similar to the Cristian "sins" narrative . Coincidence...mhh I don't think so my dude.

It's when the karma / sin narrative gets projected into the future of an individual 'soul' that it loses me.

Karma is just the bad consequences experienced as they ripple out in the world. Which is another way of saying, a behaviour is defined as bad because it produces bad consequences. There's no separate individuals who 'own' karma or sins, so the punishment of suicide is the suffering of those loved ones 'left behind'. Like God is hurting itself, for giving itself a painful life which had suicidal feelings. But it's not really punishment, it's more like suffering causing suffering.
