Internet Fame is not Real Fame

Being online most of the time, I and many other people can fall into illusions that the demographics online are a good approximation of how the demographics are in real life. But this video shows that in practice, it can actually be the precise opposite. The internet, especially YouTube, is still a small bubble despite how global it is.

It especially doesn't work in politics because politics is local while YT audiences are global.

Even if you have 5 million subs, how many of them will live in your state or district? A tiny percentage.

This message should be sent to all the right wingers on YouTube who love to toot their horn and assume whatever gibberish comes out of their potty mouth (olbagolbaholbaolba aabra ka daabra Hoolala hooo) is based on true facts. 

They always keep trumpeting - "facts not feelings." 

Real life doesn't work according to right wing wacko notions. 

 

Their fame is only 15 mins.

@Opo they are generally destroyed by their own stupidity. Now YouTube banned dislikes. So they are crying Trump tears.

Maybe not when it comes to politics. But there are plenty of Youtubers who get more views per video than the largest news broadcast, earn more money than many actors, get paid more by advertisers/sponsors, and get recognized on the street more often. How is their degree of fame any lesser just because they're working in a different medium?
