Treating Accidents With Equanimity

3 posts in this topic

In the past few weeks I meet with two accedents.

One when I just returned from vipassna meditation retreat.. The guy on the bike was riding on the wrong side of the road and dashed me from behind I had many bruises and my wound took more than a week to heel, but I didn't hold any grudge against him.

Today I met with an accident again a guy in the car broke the signal and dashed me I was on the bike nothing happened to me but I am really annoyed now I can clearly see how I'm affected by holding a grudge againt him but I soo wish I could break his windshield with my hands catch him by his collar put him on the gloor and take a big piece of stone and bring it near his face then he would know how it feels like to be aware of death.

Life is so unpredictable and these accedents have made me scared both the times it was not my fault and there were chances I could die.

I wonder why I'm so scared of everything.

You are scared because there is fear in you, no?

Scary things don't create fear. Fear creates scary things.

Why is there fear in you in the first place? If you choose to explore, you will find out. Ask the question and either it will reveal itself after very basic inquiry, or if it doesn't come up, you can release the need to know, and the answer will certainly be waiting around the corner and come to you in a moment of idleness.

However I think you will find that it doesn't really matter all that much what put it there in the first place though. The fact remains, you have fear in you. Fear creates frightful experiences. What are you going to do about being afraid of life so much? What is it that you enjoy so much about being a victim?
