Joe Rogan IG Post, a Mind Infected by Ideology

So some of you might be familiar with the chart shown in this photo. It’s a pretty rigorous and detailed personality test to show innate temperamental traits and how they reflect and connect to our political views, values, and so forth. This post by Rogan was just such a prime and actually rather stark example of a mind that’s become rather infected by ideology that it will use certain ideological motives to distort certain helpful objective models of psychological views of reality. I mean, I took that test and yeah I grew up in San Francisco and scaring pretty far left on the liberal end of that test so perhaps I took some of it personally. That said, I can also look at those models like mirrors to understand and sympathize that usefulness of other ends or that spectrum that aren’t innate to my personality structure. In fact, that’s where most of growth in life has been in the natural progression of being much more conservative in my life, personal and even spiritual development. We can learn and apply stuff from all these different views and walks of life. There is no reason we can actually learn from each other (other then the contrast that comes from being at varying stages of development, which ironically is of course a rather big and important reason). I just wanted to highlight this as it did standout to me. The caption and the Kali Yuga thing doesn’t really mean much to me since anybody that takes psychedelics can easily find some concept like the yugas and lazily slap onto the global situation. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is the case but still…

Joe Rogan's perception is too narrow minded. Yes tough situations do create strong people but that does not mean that we should be inviting tough times. That's too irrational and illogical.

Good times create less stress.

Does Joe Rogan realize how much stress leads to the degeneration of our "strong" Genes?

He is being off base.

INFJ-T,ptsd,BPD, autism, anger issues

I like the chart, haven't seen it before. Joe Rogan is committing heresy against the Religion of Progress by endorsing this worldview. He is a dangerous person and is being targeted for cancellation, no doubt.

Wat? No, that's just the political compass chart.

Anyways, yeah. Rogan on it again. There has never even been a true liberal left society. That post is just nonsense. And that "weak men" stuff is quite alarming, if you are familiar with neo-fascism.

And Kali Yuga is projection. All such religious ideas are really just projection of fear, guilt and shame.

Here is what Joe Rogan posted:

This meme doesn't make sense from a historical context. First and foremost, human history has been a long journey from autocracy and ignorance, to Democracy, wealth, a well educated and culturally advanced populace. This is what Marx calls, ''the march of history''. The state of our society today is incredibly progressive by historical standards; women voting, Democracy, no slavery, various social services, universal K-12 education, etc... Advocating for our current status quo 200 years ago would be considered Progressive, but now it is considered Conservative. Advocating what is today considered far left extremism (Socialism/Communism, non-binary gender identity, transgenderism, abortion rights, ecology, critical race theory, erasing National borders, one common universal language, etc...) 200 years from now is going to be the new centrist Moderate, or even Conservative position.

Also, the top right blue quadrant created ''hard times'' when it started WW1, which led directly to the Bolshevik Revolution. So given the context of WW1 era Russia, that chart doesn't make any sense.

@AdroseAkise  You should probably study some more history. Civilizations rise and fall, dark ages happen, and we are no exception. In 200 years the world could look like Mad Max for all we know, particularly if you believe the projections about climate change, mass extinctions, etc.

Was he this stupid a couple of years ago when I listened to him and I was just uninformed so I didn't realize it or is this a new thing?

Rogan's being roasted for this everywhere, even in his own subreddit lol

The whole 'good times create weak men, create hard times, strong men etc' thing is ultra cringe. Pretty sure it comes from far right red-pill philosophy

Someone or something got to stop guys like Rogan from spouting these dumb right-wing philosophies.

His subreddit turned on him a while ago.

Here's a meme from there.

@Joel3102 It probably comes from the Arab historian Ibn Khaldun, who had a similar theory. He observed that cohesive barbarian tribes  would conquer decadent dynasties, then the barbarians would become civilized, get soft and lose their cohesion, and some new barbarian tribe would conquer them, and the cycle repeats.

When you build up a macho identity it's then easy for right-wing ideas to take root in your mind.

He's becoming a cartoon caricature of what it means to be a man.

A lot of guys with a stage Orange center of gravity are having a backlash against Green. Like Elliot Hulse. It's very predictable. Which is why we talk about Spiral Dynamics here, to make sense of this stuff.

People ask why we talk about Spiral Dynamics so much here. Well, here's why. To avoid becoming silly memes like this.

When I see this, from a comedian, I think ‘joke.’

He caters to the right, likes guns, isn’t the brightest, sure - but I think I am missing something.

Do you guys think this was a joke or serious post of his?

Or do you guys think it doesn’t matter, if it’s a joke or not, it’s still doing damage to dumb dumbs who believe it?

Because I think I’m missing the criticism for Rohan there seems to be on the forum.

@mw711 If it's a joke, then we all fell for it.
