"Vast Military Style Campaign" to defeat global warming

3 posts in this topic

Prince Charles claims a "vast military-style campaign" is required to marshal a "fundamental economic transition."

I'm curious would this be a good thing? Would it be good that the wealthy unite to direct an army which "assists" us with a "fundamental economic transition"?

Note Prince Charles is in support of the "great reset" and to "build back better". He's spoken to this and used this language directly. Does this "economic transition" refer to WEF's Fourth Industrial Revolution? Sure sounds like it.

Am I wrong on this? I've attached a short video below

@Johnny Galt

Can we just stop collectively defining everything in military terms?

I get that it’s kind of adrenalizing. Maybe it’s motivating at a place on the spiral / emotional scale.

 But really, past a certain point it’s just self-defeating and toxic.

While I'm far from being in any way supportive of the Military Industrial Complex, I see no inherent problem in the careful and deliberate use of historical anologies to contextualize the scale of the effort required to address Climate Change.

Contextualizing something like the Green New Deal with analogies to the scale of The Marshal Plan or the United State's rapid change of Industrial priorities due to World War 2 seems like an appropriate way of framing discussions around the issue.

Especially since here in the States it feels like nothing policy wise that's ambitious in scope has been attempted in the living memory of many people alive today, so there's not really a good contemporary analogue that can be looked to for illustrative purposes.
