Is all the news that I'm reading actually made up?

6 posts in this topic

I've been reading news lately and articles are about Joe Biden visiting Pope Francis, China threatening to invade Taiwan, Taliban enforcing the Sharia law in Afganistan, Alec Baldwin shooting people on a movie set, etc.

But is any of that really happening? Am I just imagining all of that to keep the illusion that there is something going on outside of my direct experience?

@Tyler Durden

Yeah I thought it was quite meta-funny: One Tyler Durden is questioning whether media-reports are true, and another Tyler Durden is writing a media-report about people questioning whether media-reports are true.

Such is the nature of the divine comedy.

(Ultimately it's all imagined, including the Easter eggs.)

@cookiemonster

I guess God really loves Fight Club ?

If it's all imagination, I guess it has its purpose, illusion of constant happenings in the world makes it more interesting.

Quite the mindfuck eh, it’s all the story of the human race which could be acknowledged to be real or could be completely ignored. It’s the question if the news happens but there’s no one conscious of it did it really happen at all?
