How can you avoid Neurotoxic Psychedelics?

Apparently there are some psychedelics which are neurotoxic like 5meo dipt https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5047954/  Is there a rule of thumb to avoid psychedelics like that? Especially when dealing with new chemicals..

If you want to be safe, stick to low to moderate doses. Read trip reports, and ideally stay within what is already well explored.

The less known a substance is the more dangerous it can be.

I personally like dipt. but anyway.

It's very weird and kinda scary that 5meo dmt as far as we know is not neurotoxic but similar compounds to it can be neurotoxic.
