Insignificance of reproduction

3 posts in this topic

From the biological point of view, reproduction is, along with survival, the most important thing for every living being. Spreading your genes to the next generation is a biological necessity. In that way you keep on living in your offspring long after your death.

But after you realise that you were never born and you don't exist as a result of your parent's reproduction, you start to see things differently. Also, after you die, the world dies with you so your offspring don't outlive you at all.

Having all that in mind, can we say that reproduction is actually totally insignificant?
