Apparently We Are Insane.

Something a little sobering happened to me while watching a video review for a video game called" The Witness." The gist of it is that "The Witness" is a very atypical, indie, so-called walking simulator game where you solve puzzles, and it has some spiritual themes.

Towards the end of the game, there are 5 videoes to watch, highlighting 5 different view points. One video was of a guy named Rupert Spira. The reviewer basically said that his video was the worst, -and that it was probably included to demonstrate someone who is "obviously crazy"and "cultish." When I watched the video on my own, it turned out that it was literally just basic Vedanta philosophy.  That said, I didn't watch it all because it was pretty boring;stuff I've already heard a dozen times.

So, there it is. Something I've always kind of expected, but now have tangible evidence for: most people think we are crazy.

ps: its a pretty good game, if you like puzzles, or if you want to see someone putting video games and spirituality together in a meaningful way.

But you're evidence is not so clear because it's the opinion of a reviewer that the man from the video is crazy. And, if he tells you anyway that he's crazy, you don't have to asociate with the guy from the video or with the reviewer's opinion. And, let's say, that it's true, that he thinks that man from the video is crazy, what's the matter? Even Jesus was considered to be Nutts. Better crazy like this than normal like that. Morality is shit.

@Costa7

yeah, well, I myself don't really care. This post was more of just a word of caution to those who do; people, even people very close to you, may start to think you're off your rocker, and you'll just have to deal with it.

1 video game reviewer = proof of most peoples opinions?

Besides who cares even if everyone does think you're crazy. Any time you're truly on the leading edge of something, the rest of the populace will try to stomp you out. Now that being said, that doesn't mean that people thinking you're crazy automatically implies you're on the right path, lol.

Anything taken out of context can be easily made to sound crazy. I can see why someone would think Rupert is crazy or as having sinister motives, simply because in his talks he speaks really slowly and in a cadence that would strike one was bizarre if they haven't had any previous exposure to mystics or those with great presence. In the video of his used within the game, it's kind of an older talk, and nowadays I think his phrasing and presentation is more... accessible. Also with zero context of certain ideas then it sounds like absolute gibberish. Especially when people start using words like awareness, consciousness and witness in ways they're not used to.

"Someone talking slow and funny and making zero sense to me? He must be full of shit."

Some people think even the most basic wisdom is nonsense. Tell the average person that if they take time off each day to simply sit and do nothing, then they will be less stressed and that well-being will improve. They may give you a polite "yeah, maybe" but their eyes will gloss over and you can see it bounce right off them.

@Will Bigger Society in general is in a constant disability to see and promote high consciousness content. That's the way things are . It's the environment and programming that makes people have certain beliefs. Stop seeing things in terms of "We and Them" . We are not better than them .

Yeah. We're crazy. I could never even go to my mom and tell her I don't exist. I just told her that, if she's interested in what I do (because she's noticed things changing), she can just watch my videos, which she will probably never do.

Being normal in our society is a sickness you need to get rid of ASAP. Quick, find that toad, squeeze it and snort that.

@AlwaysBeNice Actually if you're gonna squeeze that toad, you'll have bufotenin, you need to smoke it to get 5-MeO. Bufotenin is also really interesting, but just not 5-MeO.

@Toby Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant "I" doesn't exist. Not "I don't exist." Because I do exist, but not as "I," as Absolute Infinity. Just like "she" doesn't exist, but she does exist.

If people don't think you're a bit insane, you're not sane enough ;)

If you understand the Graves Spiral Dynamics model, you'll be fascinated to know this one little bonus prediction of the model:

Anyone 3 stages of consciousness or more below you will think you're insane.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.
