Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?

38 posts in this topic

I don't understand why Owen Cook is still fat.

He's filthy rich, "has his own gym", doesn't drink, eats organic food & "hasn't got sick since 2012".

Yet he's somehow fat still wtf ?

Tbf I think it suits him more than skinny some reason, makes him more amusing but still I don't get it, he's not an Endomorph either I don't think.

* Also why do so many of these self help guys not workout & get muscular either? Such a basic easy habit but so many don't do it (although it wouldn't suit Owen).

My guess is that he just loves food a lot. Little addictions can be really hard to break. Addictions that are not necessarily directly destroying your life, but still have a negative impact on you in the long run. Addictions like food, cigarettes and porn

That's fair enough but why isn't he at least authentic and honest about it?

He continually laments how "we put garbage food in our mouths & constantly numb ourselves" and makes out that he eats organic and doesn't have addictions, and makes money of self help content.

It seems pretty hypocritical & dishonest if that's the case ... If he genuinely loves food & is happier this way & has no regrets about it & is intentionally fat & enjoying himself I think that's fine ... it's just at least be honest about it

... Plus I dont think you can get that fat from eating a purely organic green diet, no matter how many vegetables you eat, which he claims to ..

You can definitely get fat on an organic diet. Even a full vegan diet with healthy foods. i think the only diet a person would struggle to gain weight on is a fruitarian diet, but even then it’s not impossible.

These addictions like food addictions can run really deep, deeper than the average person is usually conscious of. A lot of times it’s already ingrained from a young age so it’s nested within the ego identity. Using food as an escape from reality unconsciously. Living your days from meal to meal.

It doesn’t mean he’s lying. It can mean that he just hasn’t gained the awareness of his relationship with food. And our relationship with food runs very deep in our psyche because it is directly linked to our human survival. So food is also one of the hardest areas to change your beliefs on.

Yea nuts are so easy to eat and they have a lot of calories.

I can easily eat the calories for the day in one sitting with them.

Everyone has their weak spots.

I’ve never struggled with weight so it is a bit bizarre when I see people who can’t stay lean. Seems so easy. But that’s my bias.

Other things I find hard Owen would likely find laughably easy.

If you’re expecting self-help gurus to be perfect, you’re going to be disappointed.

Whats his incentive to do so? You don't have to be ripped or muscular to be healthy being a little overweight or underweight is fine as long as you have energy, have decent cardio health and feel good.

Be honest most people workout out to look good for others or themselves theres nothing wrong with it but its the truth, mabey owen has no incentive to improve because he beliefs his body isnt going to get in the way of what he wants

That's fair enough yeah just fully read my comments to understand my confusion.

IMO being strong and muscular is extremely healthy and beneficial. Looking good is merely a by product and 1 benefit of having a strong and healthy body, the more muscle mass and less body fat the better.

I'm not a healthy person  anyway, but even if you're unhealthy it's better to be strong and ripped than not, it still has numerous countless benefits that are mostly obvious

No you need a balance.

If you have a lot of muscle you are putting pressure on your heart and reducing longevity.

If you drop your body fat percentage below 10 ish percent you will start losing energy, it will mess up your hormones, women can lose their periods... and if you come close to 0 you'll die.

I have gone to vegan restaurants before, and they cover the disgusting soy “meats” with sauces loaded with sugar to improve the taste.  It is no healthier than eating a big mac.

Seems like he's stressed out, over-worked, and let himself go a bit.

He's like a hamster in a wheel, running hard but staying in the same place.

What do you think about his transition from the pickup content to the more all-encompassing self-help label? He mentions a lot of stuff related to spirituality too. Do you think he's actually becoming more conscious as he gets older or he's literally hamster wheeling to keep up with the times?

I don't see that his content has really changed, he's just rebranded it to avoid mainstream backlash.

He's still fundamentally stuck on chasing girls. He can't seem to get that out of his system. I think that to truly evolve he would have to give up chasing girls. That seems like his biggest attachment, so he's in a tough spot. How do you surrender the very thing which made you who you are? What would Owen even do with himself if he wasn't chasing girls? He's not the kind of guy who can sit around all day peacefully under a tree.

I'm not denying that there are spiritual aspects to his work, but he's been talking about spirituality for over 10 years. So that's not new. It's spiritual, but not that deep.

He blames it on the fact that he only sleeps 3-4 hours a night

The guy literally has 8-9 figures, lives in LA and escaped wage slavery over 10 years ago ?

He doesn't look like he sleeps 4 hours.

He has the most relaxed face & voice, and good for him but I don't perceive any stress.

But how do you know he's still focused on that?

I don't follow him tightly enough nor hang out with him so how could you make such a claim?

"Chasing" is slightly pejorative presumably he would just have girls / a girl and not be "chasing" at this stage, given that he's meant to be an experienced pick up artist? Or do you mean he's still stuck going to club & picking them up every day ...

Again I don't know much about him from the pick up side.

Would be interesting to hear you list some examples if u know any ... (would also help me understand what owen's actual strengths that are my weakness So I can listen to him with purpose)

Avoid falling into this common trap @Striving for more. Spend your time focusing exclusively on yourself and your own aspects. Don't worry about others or if they are being hypocrites or not, all irrelevant.

What matters is the information and if it's useful or not to you, the messenger is a distraction.

In that case it looks like it’s time for him to give psychedelics a chance. It’s gonna be a hard sell because he’s always prided himself on not needing them because his mindset is already “trippy enough as it is” (paraphrasing)

I predict he’ll end up taking the plunge at some point.

Have no idea who this guy was so I had to google him lol.

He looks like fine. Not fat imo. Looks like a normal guy in his 40s. Some people are just built different. Not everyone has to be skinny and/or muscular.

I have faith in the person I am becoming xD
