Quantum immortality

In this thought experiment, each time we have a experience that can result in our death, universe splits into two - in one of them you survive and in other you die. You continue living in the first universe because you can't be conscious of being dead in the second one. Is this closest that science came to explaining the possibility of eternal life?

So what you keep living in one human body more and more until you are so old that you can't move.   But damn you still can't die and leave the particular body behind? Lol

I guess this option is ego's wet dream but it has its problems as you mentioned. Deteriorating health seems like a serious issue. Maybe there's no aging because time doesn't pass.
