is NoFap worth it?

I mean ... there are other ways to reset your dopamine sensitivity lol. It obviously works but doing a 2 day fast every week or two seems way more favorable to me.

@Max8 Then I don't think you'd really benefit much from no fap. I'm speaking from my experience, feel free to try it out on your own. IMO doing no fap when you don't have an unhealthy relationship with porn/sex/masturbation would be like going to an alcoholic support group meeting when you don't have a drinking problem.  Embrace your natural sex drive. Just bust a nut and live your life lmao.

worth what exactly?

more time and energy? better sex and orgasm? being stoic and virtuous? wanting to develop mastery in self-control?

This answer depends on what you what from yourself.

@Max8 Tf who lied to you o.O:Dlmaooo

Of course we do

Maybe not as much porn (compared to men at least) because of how porn doesnt do a good job at depicting scenes that actually appeal to us but most of us definitely masturbate

So yes. It’s most certainly worth it. Quite possibly the most challenging journey you’ll ever embark on. But the most difficult things in life tend to yield the highest rewards. As a bonus you’ll learn to channel the energy and have full body orgasms without playing your meat flute. Yoga is the best way to do it.

#NoNutNovember starts in one month so get all your faps out now and put yourself to the test next month. ?

Are you aware the actual problem is not watching porn but the masturbation itself. So what you need to truly aim is "semen-retention". Research this, instead ;)

How many of you guys masturbate without any external material? Or have at least tried it? It's one thing I find myself being a bit disappointed in. Unless I'm aggressively horny it's difficult to do, but it shows how dependent I've become on needing these insane levels of stimulation. I don't even mean porn because I rarely watch it, but even just pictures of instagram models.

Yeah, imo.

Channel that energy into other areas of life & of course a relationship ideally.

The difference when you quit porn is huge, but its far from easy and for most people who have been exposed to it for years, if not decades it takes a long time to rewire your brain.

Perhaps the most ironic thing is a lot of men turn to porn out of loneliness & lack of connection, yet wasting sexual energy like that just makes it harder to find those things, hence the hamster wheel continues. Why do you think OnlyFans got so popular? These people (for whatever reason) think the models / stars care about them, maybe they do to an extent, but you're literally paying for attention, its not even comparable to a truly committed relationship.

Currently reading a book on Karezza & Retention which is really interesting, but just like NoFap, can be quite ideological of 'This is the way' etc.

Yep, it worth it but remember not to the excessive point. it will make you desperate as fuck.

in a real sense, I've been much more strategic with girls when I was on my 15 days of no fap than 40 days.

Sounds like you’re overdue for a dopamine detox

I'm doing 100 days right now, I really haven't noticed any huge changes. Try it for yourself and see what happens.

I did No-Fap for a few stretches over the years. I just ended up with erectile disfunction and shame over touching my penis.
Accupuncture got rid of the ED.

The initial realization I came to after resolving the ED, was that I was doing No-Fap because I was ashamed of not getting laid and I felt powerless over my ability to do so. This initial realization was not deep enough though.

The discipline I used on No-Fap gave me a sense of pride and power, but the pride and power just allowed me to avoid dealing with a deep sense of shame that I had (the shame was way deeper than not getting laid).

That shame came from inferiority complex I developed in my childhood and that I perpetuated by not setting boundaries with people.

Maybe this is relatable and useful for someone.

Very similar situation with me. I experienced what they call a "flatline" in the no-fap community, and then thereafter my libido was just very inconsistent all around. Sometimes absolutely no desire to masturbate, sometimes very little, and just overall lots of trouble getting my libido and erections back to what it once was. Very concerning stuff.

It is also very hard to tell whether I am back to normal or not, I don't have a good frame of reference. I think it is slowly getting better though.

Describe a thought.

You would best serve yourself by dropping any preconceived notions of men and women do or don't do. Things may have been more simple 70 years ago, but now our culture is so open sexually and people have access to so many things through the internet that almost nothing should surprise you.

One of my ex girlfriends said she had entire month stretches when she was single where she would flick her bean to porn every single day. She was one of those very feminine/family oriented girls by the way. You wouldn't expect it, I certainly didn't. Made me reconsider my view of women completely and it was a great thing.

It's not a question of "worth". You're implying that there is something to renounce, give up for certain benefits. There is nothing to give up in masturbation and porn. It is only robbing you of your potential.

But yes, IME and a lot of people's experience as well, the benefits are immense.
