Best way to find out is to give it a shot :) Do a 21 day nofap then come back and tell us how it went.

A lot of people claim it makes them more productive, others say it just makes them constantly horny. Maybe there is a U-shaped curve type of relationship between duration of avoidance and the level of horniness and at some point in time the craving for masturbation starts to decline.

Your answer is a combination of yes, no and maybe. Pick your favorite.

NoFap has never been worth it for me. Self-esteem and confidence with women is way deeper issue than just not jerking off, in fact, I think NoFap is just an excuse for people to not go up and talk to girls, instead they sit at home for 2 weeks not touching their weiner thinking theyre making a difference to their life when theyre not.

Much better than that is semen-retention. It's not porn that's harming you but masturbation itself. Instead, research this ;)

I've done periods of it to see what kind of effect it would have on me. They usually last about 2-3 weeks, but the longest I've gone was 4 months. I didn't feel it changed my life in any significant way. I think it's useful in the short term if you notice fatigue in your life as masturbation can have you feeling drained if you do it too much.

Yeah, interesting how more sexual dreams come up.

The energy you will feel got to be moved around. Focus on feeling good when getting still with the energy (as opposed to releasing it through getting off).

I think whether or not nofap is affective has to do with how healthy your relationship to porn and sex is and to what extent you have addictive tendencies to either of those.  I tried it and as someone who doesn't use masturbation as some type of unhealthy coping mechanism, I can't say that I got a lot of benefit from no fap. I wrote more about this in my journal a couple months ago.

I personally believe it's largely relative and it's mainly a psychological game we play with ourselves.

If you are someone that would feel more confident because you are abstaining from doing something you normally do, that having a sense of control over your own actions makes you feel better then I'd say that a positive result. But, this would also mean guilt/shame would come into play if you failed yourself.

But, if you are a person where confidence doesn't come from controlling yourself it's very possible the action of it all could just cause your devilry to manifest in other areas to compensate that which you wish to do.

If you have no issue with fapping in the first place then nothing will be gained or lost by stopping.

I'm sure there are some other effects to seamen retention itself, but I personally believe it's a mind over matter game here and also highly relative to who's doing it.

I did Nofap for about half a year.

Urine can get mixed in with semen, causing it do have yellow in colour.

Wet dreams happened multiple times per week, which was kind of annoying as I was changing my sheets quite a bit.

When I was with a girl, I would finish in lightning speed.

I kind of understand porn though. I feel as though watching porn disconnected me from touch, and that I was becoming sexually attracted to a computer screen. I am not sure if this directly contributed to erectile function but mine is definitely been influenced in some way.

Porn has been an  issue for me as I would use it to distract myself from work, and my tastes were getting rather graphic.

My approach at the moment is to void all internet porn (have been going a month strong) and this week I'm seeing how only masturbating once a week feels.

In that aspect I think you're ok

What is your relationship to sex/masturbation? Do you have a lot of repression? Do you use this as a coping mechanism to avoid things in your life or as a way to deal with depression/anxiety?
