What kind of a carreer would be a good fit for me?

12 posts in this topic

I've been struggling with this question for a long time. Always had a hard time trying to figure out what I want to "do with my life". I decided to really just look at what I most enjoy in life:

What I naturally resonate most with:

- Being quite laid-back, in a sense a bit lazy, being my own boss, having a lot of freedom. Going with the flow.
- Intuition, even in the smallest details
- Feeling deeply connected with people, art and the beauty of nature
- Expressing myself in social situations, reading social clues and situations, sometimes even playing silly social games and gossiping for fun etc. This is like art for me, even though I'm introverted and a bit shy
- Sensing energies and working with them, melting in love with others and music and nature. Verbal communication is not my strength. It feels too limited.
- Working in a small group of people with the same goal

What I do not resonate with:

- Intense philosophy and teaching (Leo, Ken Wilber type of a deal) even though I'm quite sharp
- Writing stories, articles, philosophy, poetry etc.
- Creating with my hands (crafting, painting, cooking)
- Sitting in front of a computer
- Reading a lot of books
- Sports
- Studying in a university
- Focusing on the same task for a long time

Do you guys have any ideas what kind of a carreer would work for me?

What is the thing/ skill that you are best at?

@roopepa Perhaps, a spiritual workshop facilitator.

These could be done in various different places. Could have a team of people who do them.

A general structure of the session might be cool. But you can also keep following your intuition on the vibe of the group and decide from there what you want to do.

Do you have any skills related to the great outdoors, music, or art? Or anything you're particularly drawn to learning?

I'm a little gifted in many areas, but I don't have any particular "thing" I'm especially good at, or drawn to. Except introspection, spirituality and general philosophical thinking.

Would you prefer something that mostly revolved around working with others or something mostly solitary?

Working with others.

Do you definitely want to be your own boss or would you be happy doing a job that was laid-back and gave you some autonomy?

I would be happy with a laid-back job with autonomy.

I like to think that I'm emotionally, socially and spiritually quite intuitive/gifted.

Yes! Something like that feels right for me. I like to plan and design different ways of practice and learning. Thanks!! That sounds awesome.

@roopepa Glad to hear it!

I like how intuitively done a lot of the facilitators here are: (Its like people are just being!)
