What is your take on CTMU

13 posts in this topic

As in "The Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe".

Basically this guy Chris Langan is saying the Universe which is God is a tautology and wants to exists in every possible form.

Did you find any disagreeings with Leo's stuff?

Maybe his model lacks the Love part.

It is not and never will be God-realization.

You cannot think your way into God-realization.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Leo Gura I say this with love, but it's quite astounding how you don't reflect on how most of your actions are EXACTLY that.

Gaslighting with ignorance of all-knowingness TrUTh, and anyone that doesn't agree with you needs to open your mind.

Ah, and so the world turns. I advise humility, old friend. You're trying, and that's commendable. But you still allow the sneaky devil of narcissism to rule your life.

I only watched that interview, did not read the paper, but I suspect his theory are just language games

I think it's most telling to recognize that even concepts, when taken to their extreme limit (as with CTMU), still "point" in the same direction as nonduality.  This is obviously not the same thing as realization, but if you're a regular guy exploring your worldview and unsure if there's any "truth" to be found in nonduality, this is a nice hint.  It's easy to forget that it takes a lot of "faith" to embark on the spiritual journey, which at the beginning can feel like it's just another rabbit trail into deluded territory (which admittedly is one of the huge benefits of psychedelics).
