Ladies, did enlightenment change your view on kids?

9 posts in this topic

Since realizing that reproduction is an illusion, I’ve done a 180 on my view on having kids. I’m not sure I want to raise a child in this reality. But I also think about what it would be like to be pregnant. To experience growing another consciousness being, to birth it and feed it from my own body.

For now it’s a no, but I’d like to hear other women’s perspectives on it.

What are your views on getting pregnant or having a kid?

When I met my partner of four years she was pregnant with her fifth child. She was a spiritual person, but not in the non-dual way more in the new age way. Before that she was a Muslim for 5 years.

Most of her life she raised her children out of the responsibility of raising them, the right right thing to do in societies eyes.

When she was a Muslim she did it for Allah.

When I met her she did it once again because it was the right thing to do.

She eventually woke up to the illusion while we was dating having God realizations and such. She realized that she was completely wrong about motherhood being some divine extra special thing only women can have and having a child was no more or less special than a poo on the ground.

She had an attachment to her children that was from true love, but a social conditioned love and a love born out of her own personal traumas as a child.

When she realized this is helped her release the attachment she had to them which largely was toxic for all parties.

She wouldn't have children again because she perceives there is a sense of selfishness that is inherently involved in having one which stems from a sense of lack in the self rather than seeing the perfect harmony that is the present.

She no longer has her children, long story short she had a mental breakdown on psychedelics. She didn't hurt the children at all but since drugs were involved she lost them to both her parents and her ex husband.

She sees this as a blessing in disguise and fully believes that God(her self) or however you wish to say it set these lessons up for her to have children but eventually get rid of them to help her become a better person. She doesn't want to be a mother, she has seen too much she believes to accept that motherhood is a spiritual path, but rather it's a hindrance to the self to be tethered directly to children.

The children all have better lives now and so does she. So in the end all things turned out perfectly.  Because of this, it gives her more faith in herself and God to always give the best for people who are willing and open to any possibly that may happen.

She still sees them and has a more healthy relationship with them. She has also made amazing progress with herself mentally and spiritually and I'm quite proud of her.

How do I feel about it as her partner? She is free to feel anyway she wishes about anything she wishes. I cast no judgements and she never directly mistreated the kids. I agree all is an illusion and people are only fooling themselves believing motherhood is something more divine than anything else and I'm just happy all is well.

*edit*

As for the actual pregnancies themselves there isn't much to say outside of what you would normally hear about being pregnant from a non-spiritual person. Though sometimes it would make her astral project more than usual and many times it felt like demons were watching her when she was in the astral.

Right-click "ProjectAstrals.exe" ----> Run as Administrator

But, in all seriousness just look it up online. Ever been in sleep paralysis? That's the astral realm. But, you can find a way for your astral body to separate from your physical body and walk around there.

Now I realize everyone is my kid. It's a little overwhelming sometimes, but no more than back when I thought I only had two.

You don't really own them, though. Maybe just a kid.

Foolish until proven other-wise ;)
