Why do I have a contracted root chakra?

11 posts in this topic

I went to a conference and ran into a professional energy worker. I have been dealing with energy moving vigorously around in my body for a while now. The energy worker told me the reason why I feel these 'energy jolts' in my body is because my spirit is trying to leave my body because I am not grounded (i.e. I have a contracted root chakra) and the energy wants to move around. What do you guys think of this? Are there any energy workers on the forum?

Focus on the heart, it will resolve automatically and take with a grain of salt any spiritual worker that tells you something about your interior.

Yeah, that's great advice. I feel some spiritual workers are misinformed..

See the movie The big Lebowski 1998,

The movie shows how they peed on his carpet. The carpet being "muladara chakra".

They might be right about you being ungrounded, that's an issue with a lot of people (I've had issues with this too) because we tend to be so lost in our thinking, and it might be especially problematic if you have a lot of energy moving around in your body. You might benefit from doing a grounding exercise like the one below, it'll help you to connect to your body and release any tension that might be hindering the flow of energy:

this is exactly me right now; so much energy pent up in my body and a ton of time spent in my head. Now the jolts that are pushing my body around (like somatic Tourettes ) are nauseating. I literally need this grounding exercise you posted. Tysm.

@Gianna Really hope it helps darl, I know it's not very much fun when the energy's stirring up all that discomfort and nausea :/ Can take a while for your body to adjust to all the energy that's been freed up in your system, that does tend to be a challenging part of the journey for the majority of people (myself very much included!), I know a regular body-centred practice has been a must for me personally.

I wonder how this happened. Through my meditations? It started as slight involuntary rocking back and forth and then side to side. Then it turned into this enormous shift in energy that yanks me around. I have an allowing meditation that I do but out of fear it'll get worse I have been not doing it as much. Will an allowing practice ground me?

I'm assuming (possibly wrongly!) that the profound realisation of oneness you had that you talked about on another thread was a sort of energetic catalyst, although I don't know if you were meditating before that? I know those sorts of experiences can trigger significant movements of energy (I remember feeling a subtle movement of energy through my spine and out the top of my head when I had my initial awakening), they can be catalysts for kundalini awakenings.

What you're describing sounds completely normal though, I experience the rocking back and forth and side to side sometimes too - an allowing practice sounds perfect, the key thing is just to relax as much as you can and then the energy can gradually work through any blockages in your system. Be very gentle with yourself though, if you feel like you need to ease off your practice then by all means do so, listen to what your body's telling you; don't be alarmed if you find that certain emotions are starting to arise, too (fear, sadness, anger, etc.), that's just the body releasing what had previously been suppressed. Just do what you need to do in the moment in order to feel better if that does happen, and trust that the feelings will pass, eventually.

As for grounding, just walking around and being in contact with the ground can help with that, as can visualisations like the one above where you're visualising roots growing from your feet into the ground, that'll just help you to shift your attention into your body as much as anything. A few deep belly breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth (being sure to relax your body before you start breathing, so that you can breathe without straining), can help to alleviate any anxiety or tension you might be feeling.

(Sorry, I know I'm throwing a lot of information at you there, I'm sure you know a lot of this stuff already!)

Something else that just came to mind is that acupuncture can apparently be helpful in alleviating kundalini symptoms, that might be an option to consider if you're really struggling with it.

I would say that maybe the energy is moving around because there is a need for it to. No human being is as intelligent as the energy which drives your being. Having higher chakras open and lower ones less pronounced can be disconcerting for sure, but it also comes with a ton of advantages for certain stages in the spiritual path. People love to have a bias toward grounding because it’s far more common to see and understand humans who operate mostly through the lower chakras. The most effective things I’ve ever done for grounding involved opening my higher chakras up even more because that’s how I’m naturally geared. At first this is destabilizing, but the energy of the upper chakras is often chaotic. It’s learning to operate at stronger intensities which will ultimately result in you becoming more equanimous in all experiences. If your whole system keeps taking you higher, ask yourself why something far beyond human intellectual processing would move in that way.

I hope this helps. Don’t be too eager to open things up too fast, but also don’t be fooled into thinking that trying to suppress your higher energetic capabilities will be in your best interest in the long term either.

What did the stage orange scientist call the stage blue fundamentalist for claiming YHWH intentionally caused Noah’s great flood?

Delugional.
