Final Switch Or Trigger For Transformation / Enlightenment?

45 posts in this topic

Yes. But a blissful life without suffering makes definitely sense while we are still here. How to get there is the so called spiritual process which (if done properly) sheds wrong identifications from you. The successful conscious identification with Everything that is brings you into that state where you are able to choose your Feelings and where is no Need to suffer. I a way you are anticipating the death of the Body/mind/ego as a seperate unit by doing that.

Can you as a human being exist without the support of your body? No. Without the Support of a the earth or a similar planet? No. Without the solar System? no. So why not seeing all of it as your larger Body. Can this whole stuff exist without the Support of the whole universe? no. So why not seeing the universe as your larger Body? And can the universe exist without the no-thingness that contains it? No. So why not seeing the no-thingness or all-that-is as your larger or infinite Body?

So recognizing that or being Aware of that while still alive is a wonderful Thing to experience life in the deepest possible way. Why getting up, eating, shitting, working, eating sleeping, reproducing and falling dead one day? Whats the Point of it? You want to be touched or overwhelmed by life, that brings joy and bliss. So lets go there and get the most touching and overwhelming Feelings out of it.

so what or who is triggering the final Switch that cannot be reversed?

I think that's the million dollar question. I've thought about that myself many times. Any personal development "guru" or spiritual teacher will tell you that only a small portion of seminar attendees or book readers will actually apply the teachings to their lives. Most people feel good while reading books or attending seminars then go on back to their normal lives. So what is that "switch" or "trigger" within peoples consciousnesses that awakens them? Some say its suffering. When people suffer enough, they will awaken as in most peoples cases.

@DJ I think the crucial Point is that when the stage is prepared according to what you are able to do, you shall not stay there and wait for something to happen with you. You must disappear and be the unknowing audience that does not have any expectations at all. thats probably the most difficult Thing to realize because the ego/mind may think ok i am the audience "let`s get ready to rumble". and of Course nothing happens just maybe some hallucination. Still on the stage or in the directors seat? Forget it.

so probably it is the best to also Forget about enlightenment and just do the best to align oneself with existence by being less identified. the less you are identified with anything, the more Aware you are in fact. And that is probably all we can do. Being Aware, forgetting about so called Knowledge (which is based on identification and disection of Things) and not identifying. Maybe a flower will blossom, maybe not. Being more Aware, suffering less and being more joyful is worthwile even without Enlightenment.

I'm not enlightened but seeing as no-one can tell us the trigger I may as well have a go. We are told that surrender is an important aspect. We are told that it "comes from a place of not knowing" which means no thought or knowledge what-so-ever can be the trigger.

We are also told that you realise it's already here. Jesus said "The Kingdom of God is in your midst", and so also comes in the idea of belief or faith.

Nothing egoic itself can flick a switch when there's nothing to flick, no switch, it's here already so the idea of a trigger itself goes out the window. You are at the mercy of it and you are it.

@NeoSo the way it was explained to me by my therapist is that the wisdom mind already knows what we are but the ego can never understand it only realize it. So my theory is that the trigger comes from when the ego stops trying to resist and surrenders after its seen through its illusion enough times. Not sure if my wording makes sense but I've noticed that is what seems to be happening after each awakening experience I have

trigger is just a methaphor as Enlightenment is definitely some Kind of shift (at least from the view of the individual) which has to have a cause even if that cause is not real or absolute. Otherwise it would not make any sense to even ask all These questions as a seeker. The cause can of Course be a very simple Realisation. Maybe the simplest one that is thinkable.

Whoa @Wendelin you are finding whole new concepts of reality to "learn". I thought basically all we are trying to do here is one thing. Reach into your mind of when you were a baby or toddler to the point where you took on the belief, "this is me", pull it out and rip it up and discard it. This will make you feel like you are dying. This guy on the other hand, multiple timelines, consensual reality, incremental split seconds of alternate universes WTF? :) sorry.

@Neo you want to live or you want to die? Does you don`t exist mean you shall sit in a cave?

Let`s learn some amazing Things but put it in the right perspective. I see no contradiction at all.

@Wendelin Of course, everything is fine if that's what you want, but from my non-enlightened position it is as if, I am trying to tweak something in the computers BIOS, and you are filling up the hard drive with dogma.

there is no Dogma to fill in. Wheter you see (as consciousness) one illlusionary universe or infinite illusionary universes whats the big difference?

in which scheme does infinity fit better? Into infinte possibilities through which your awareness zips due to its state of awareness and the following reflections of your creative awareness or into one world that offers limited possibilities which makes you more or less a victim?

Well that's really ironic because I believed strongly in free will before I started this, and not after.

free will is being able to have Options to respond and chosing one of them as a consequence.

do you have Options when you are not consciously chosing but compulsively or according to your "likes" and "dislikes"? are you really at the receiving end in this creation and have therefore no free will?

Or are you as well the creator in fact at the giving side? Isn`t it that the receiving end version (victim side) is the Illusion and the giving side is what your truely are? (creator, god, nothingness whatever)

you ARE the creator and you choose what is created as a consequence or reflection of your awareness and beingness. And that is what shines back to you as an illusionary "reality". Experience does not have inherited meanings, emotions etc. So you can experience your beingness the way you want it and that is what gets reflected back to you.

When you ask yourself who or what you really are daily,

When you intuitively know there is something more to you than flesh and thoughts,

When you go take more and more walk into forest/plain/mountain to contemplate nature,

When you try to see people/animals and plants for something else that what you think they are,

When you start to be humble, not to be humble, but because you know your ideas and strenghts does not come from you (your ego),

This is when you will feel the switch has been pressed.

@Shin that is when you become Aware of your true nature. Everything happens within Awareness. Nothing was ever experienced out of Awareness. So awareness and what appears in it is tied together. There is a painter and a painting which exactly reflects what the painter intended. So we could identify with one Little aspect of the painting (be it dark or shiny) or with the creative force behind which includes the painter, his Colors, his canvas and his intelligence = god = nothingness

I'll never forget the time I stuck a fork in a live 240v socket - my transformation & enlightenment was instantaneous.

I take it you're not recommending that?
