What do you think about Arthur Schopenhauer?

What do you think about Arthur Schopenhauer as a philosopher?

I don't know a ton about him myself, other than that he was an arch-nemesis of Hegel (who was the most prominent of the German Idealists, and a philosopher whose work I'm much more knowledgeable about).

So I'd also be interested for someone more familiar with his work to chime in.

Yes and he was also a pessimist. Some of his ideas are very problematic and toxic i think. It doesn't seem that he was the happiest guy around lol.

He is the second best. Nice to have an honest philosopher for a change.
