20 mg of 5-Meo DMT (plugged): NOT AT ALL what I had expected!

Whoa. This was without a doubt the most glorious letdown I have ever experienced. xDxDxD

I don't remember who it was, but someone said in another thread that 5-Meo is kind of an anti-psychedelic. Well, I'll be damned if today's trial didn't seem to confirm this statement... there were no flashy fireworks going off, there were no visuals whatsoever, there was no "attainment of a higher state"... none of that shit. Most surprisingly, it was the most gentle, most subtle, most unobtrusive (non)psychedelic (non)experience I ever had to date. Totally plain and sober. Three puffs of weed make me fly off into outer space; this stuff on the other hand just lifted my egoic confusion and showed me the matter-of-fact reality of the present moment -- that's it. The gateless gate indeed.

But let me start from the beginning. A couple of minutes after injection, I could feel my pulse shooting up and a warm wave of energy floating through my body. At the same time, a wave of anxiety washed over me, and my mental chatterbox reported the following:

"Fuck, here it comes. Time to meet my proverbial maker, I guess. Damn, is this going to be it? Nirvana, Infinity, the Absolute? Oh shit, I don't know if I am actually ready for this. Was this a good idea? What if this was a mistake? Have I just done the dumbest fucking thing of my entire life? Oh no. Don't panic. Stay cool. Just. Stay. Cool. Oh shit. OOOH SHIT. OOOOOOHHH SSSHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIII --- Wait. Just hold on a second,

What on earth am I doing here? Why am I trying to have an experience that I actually don't want to have? Jesus Christ, this is simply ridiculous. What exactly are you trying to achieve? Reach some ominous state that you call "enlightenment", something you've read about on some fucking internet forum? And then what? You think you're going to get some kind of medal for becoming "enlightened"? Come on dude, get real... you haven't really thought this through, now have you? For fuck's sake. THIS IS IT!! You are exactly where you need to be... scratch that, you are exactly where you want to be! You have put yourself here in order to have THIS experience, remember? Why the hell do you want to skip ahead instead of just appreciating the here and now as it is? Is there any good reason for this? Do you have anything to gain from it? Anything at all? Isn't this literal insanity?! Oh my god, I can't believe it... I am chasing a complete fucking phantom, that's what's going on here. Surprise motherfucker, you already did it, you are and always have been and always will be precisely where you belong - YOU ARE HOME! THIS IS NIRVANA!!!"

And that is basically the whole story.

So that's it... everything is perfect as it is. Not exactly a super revolutionary sounding insight, I know, but somehow it always feels completely fresh and new and utterly stunning when that lightbulb goes off. It's the joke that is being retold over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, for all of eternity. --- And yes, I already know what you 5-Meo DMT veterans out there are going to say. "Man, you haven't even begun to scratch the goddamn surface... 5-Meo can show you literal INFINITY!!" Yeah, but... why chase after it? Do I have anything to gain from it? - Well, I think you all get the point. :D

And the final punchline? Even that ridiculous & delusional impulse to chase after so-called enlightenment (which is undoubtedly the biggest ego trip of all) is part of the everlasting perfection! You want to go on a wild goose chase and drive yourself crazy trying to make something happen which already is the case? Why, of course, if that is your idea of a good time, then by all means... go ahead, knock yourself out, nobody's stopping you!

In other words: I think I might do this again. LOL

I was the one who said that 5 meo is not a psychedelic, it is an eraser, but now I say: 5 meo is magic

I like this, if we wanted enlightenment we would have it. We choose against it all day.

and it makes sense when some people get annoyed and say 'fuck it!  fuck this bullshit' and give up and enlightenment hits them

it's all backwards lol

@Bazooka Jesus  So cool!  I had a very similar realization after smoking 20mg of 5MeO-DMT.  The experience itself was terror with a reprieve of unconsciousness and then profound gratitude for being back.  My insight after was the same as yours.  WTF was I chasing?  Enlightenment?  Seriously?  With a drug?!  How stupid can I be?  This is "IT".  There is nothing to do.  It is all ego chasing after the idea of enlightenment when the real deal is right here, right now.

LSD is WAY more profound for me.  Cannabis even can get me in a more "spiritual" state than 5MeO.  I guess everyone has different experiences with this substance.

@taotemu you did 5 meo only one time, maybe you should try again. You can see that here many sais that have the most profound realizations with it, maybe it's true.  But it's up to you of course

Interesting. They are so different for me. Different aspects of the mountain of God.

It is an important endeavour for the mind-self and its relative "quality of life". Disattachment from form can be liberating in many arenas. Especially self blame and acceptance. Not dwelling on the past.

Most people dwell there. And in the anticipated future.

:DxD:DxD:DxD:DxD:DxD:DxD:DxD Exactly!

You cannot reach it because you already got it... replace your silly idea of enlightenment with THIS and realize that you already hit the jackpot. You got the sweet end of the deal! Check mate, game over, case closed - this is it, and it's the proverbial shit!

Lol yeah, there's nothing "spiritual" about a 5-Meo experience - or at least that is true for my experience that I have described here. It's really a kind of truth serum. It just shows you what is the case, plain and simple reality.

But what do you mean LSD is more profound? For me, the plain and sober and unvarnished truth of 5-Meo is the most profound thing I have ever discovered in my life! What could be more profound than the insight that this right here is perfection, Nirvana, paradise! Well, it is sort of profoundly unprofound. Lmao! ^_^

God, you really cannot talk about this thing adequately... all words you'll try to use in order to explain and capture the delicious paradox and irony of it all will sound like sheer gibberish to the overwhelming majority of people, even though it's the simplest thing imaginable. GAH.

I've had a similar "realization" on a high dose weed edible before.  It all smacked me in the face and right NOW was the truth.  It was like I went full blown sober or something.  Everything 'clicked' and it all was perfect and everything was where it needed to be NOW.

But my question is (other people who have realized the same thing please chime in):  if we are "there" (aka here) already NOW, what's an easy pointer to realize it right now?  Almost like a "oh yeah that's right!" or an infallible way to 'remember' or fall back into the truth?  Because I was there and then I wasn't.  And I have been longing to "go back" even though I know it's futile and a paradox because I'm already HERE.  Lmao. Sorry if that makes no damn sense.

Oh, that makes perfect sense! B|

And I don't know man... I don't think that there are any truly reliable pointers that can ignite the light bulb just like that in every single case. The closest thing I could think of is "just notice how perfectly everything fits together", but I guess even that one won't elicit much more than a blank stare and a slow shrug from 99.9% of l people, heh. At some point, you just need to leave all pointers behind and OPEN YOUR FUCKING EYES! Lol.

@Breakingthewall Ugh... I HATE vaping DMT. I don't like the freight-train-smashing-in-your-face character of the come-up; I prefer to gradually melt away like ice cream in the sunshine.

I find many people who take psychedelics have the same experience; I'm already enlightened, we're all already enlightened there's no reason to work for it anymore. This may be why many mystics, ascetics, yogis, monks all warn against intoxicants. While it may give you a glimpse of beyond the veil, people tend to think once they get a peak then there is nothing left to experience, but it's only that, a glimpse. Like looking through a window, but not actually walking through the door. It's kind of like reverse psychology. Delusion will make you want to stop striving for Truth, but you must overcome it and truly realize the Truth for what it is.

Great stuff man!

Your trip report reminds me of one of my favorite mantras: Everything is exactly as it's supposed to be.

Becoming Infninite was the single greatest , most mind-blowing , ''experience'' of my life. Nothing compares or even comes close to becoming Infinite.
