@Lamp Meditation usually gives me the most emotional releases, as I am not worried about the future or the past, therefore making me content with the moment. However, for me personally my emotional releases come at random moments usually during meditation and sometimes after I have finished. But, I've also heard the yoga also definitely helps so give those are try. As, for the others I haven't tried them. Besides, cold showers, but all they seem to do is make me cold xD.

If I do it once a week or so I get extremely calm, but I would not call it a cold shower because I either have warm or switch it up for like 10 seconds as cold as possible so I really get a shock, I repeat it 5 times. But I don't really know if I ever have had an emotional release, but I think so because you get so in touch with your body when you do this ;)

Now that we got that out of the way - You are asking about unconscious release, which could only be sleeping or death. Perhaps you meant subconscious? Not sure. However, conscious release is all the rage these days...give this a try, it of course won't work for every one, but it works very For you.  If you know what is going on in your life that your undesirable emotions are coming from, then focus on that - if you don't know, then just focus on the unwanted emotion itself. Now close you eyes and imagine making an extremely dense metal ball with your hands, about chest high. Take all that undesired emotion and pack it into that metal ball. Just keep packing it and making it more and more dense. Feel it with you hands. Feel how unbelievably heavy it is. Smell the metal and bad emotion. Feel the weight of it growing as your arms are flexing just to hold it. Now, place the ball on a track in front of you and push it with all your might. Really PUSH it! Put your back into it! Now hear it as it rolls away from you on the track......20 feet away...VERY LOUD...100 feet away...getting quieter.....miles away....can't even hear that noise anymore.  This is one of those silly things that works because you think it works. Since everything is just consciousness, it works none the less, very effectively. It works because of the emotional / physical relationship principle of as above, so below. It is like how if you smile for a couple minutes, you begin to feel happy, and of course, when you are happy, you smile. Emotions and your physical body have this relationship. Ease and disease is another notable example.
