Why is the term "higher levels" of consciousness used?

Should it be higher levels of mind?

After all consciousness itself is one thing as we always discuss. The contents appearing to it are what change.

Everything is Consciousness, in different states of Self-awareness. It has the capacity to veil some of itself from the rest of itself, and the veil creates the illusion of "higher" or "lower" Consciousness. Ultimately, there is is no higher or lower Consciousness, just Consciousness telling the story of seeing itself as such.

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.

Do you think a distinction is useful? So people can understand consciousness is unchanging and mind and content appears in it?

The conceptual distinction has limited utility, and is unlikely to catalyze Consciousness awakening to itself. Not to say that teachings are unimportant, but ultimately it is about direct realization. You can study the Bhagavad Gita for decades, but the concepts mean nothing until you are ready to let go, and Self-realize the encrypted message in its pages.

Finite vs infinite state...God Mode / ego Mode. No state is special but a non-dual state allows you to become conscious of oneness where the finite state is a state of apparent separation. .  But It's all Mind.

There is no separation between "consciousness" and "The contents appearing to it", it's the same one. The thoughts are a reflection of the feelings and the quality of feelings determine how we operate in 'the world'.

Mind is cognitive stuff like thoughts, beliefs, ideologies etc. Consciousness can be its own thing, but it can also involve aspects of mind, heart and gut etc.

Intrinsic joy is revealed in the marriage of meaning and being.

It's not just a matter of content. It's more about how much aware are you of the content. When you take a psychedelic or have a mystical experience then you finally realize that consiousness has many qualities to it no matter what the content is. You become more and more conscious of things without any content changing.

I would describe Consciousness like a glass window that it usually very dirty and you can't see very accurately from it. When you clean it, you see crystal clear. That sense of having a crystal clear perception of reality is really addicting for me because it happens so rarely..
