Those crazy Christians are right! Dinosaur bones really were “planted by the devil”

22 posts in this topic

Christians (like my dad)  have used this idea to argue that the world is really less than 10,000 years old and started with Adam and Eve.

But in a strangeloopy way, if you think of  “an act of the devil” as God tricking itself into the illusion of separateness then the idea of dinosaur bones being a creation of the devil to build a deceiving and convincing narrative for scientific materialism actually begins to seem quite true.

This seems like a lot of mental gymnastics, lol. Dinosaurs were real from our relative, dualistic perception of reality, which is how we are currently living and communicating. Sure, in the Absolute there were no dinosaurs, but there are also no humans, no time, and no space, so there's not much to say about it.

@OneHandClap you don’t share my taste

Maybe, maybe not. I'm a salt-and-vinegar chip guy. Many find my tastes distasteful ;)

Bambam sauce!? Enlighten me... I'm a sauce addict. Btw, I saw you're from Boston on your page. Fellow Masshole here :)

I'll look around for it :) Cheers.

Excellent! A good friend of mine went to WPI. I'm originally from the area around Lowell, but have spent a lot of time in Maine. Peaceful up here - check it out if you get the chance!

You're wrong.

I don’t understand, what does this passage refer to and where does it come from?

If anything was planted by the devil, it was Christianity.

Mic drop.

The fortress of comforting beliefs must be defended at all costs.

Lol when I was a kid, I’ve always wondered that if the devil is so powerful and smart, couldn’t he pretend to be God and become worshipped by everybody, and make God the devil to be feared and avoided?

Of course, when I would present this “theory” as a kid I would get weird looks and responses from adults like “that’s impossible” lmao

What if the Devil enjoys being feared ?

A LOT of people fear God or the wrath of God much more than the devil.  Some cultures even say things like “God willing” or something similar in a serious manner just to avoid jinxing their hope of outcome
