The necessity of Ego

Noticing in spiritual work, it is extremely easy to demonize the Ego. The Ego is primarily responsible for our human conditioning. Of course, human conditioning comes with a lot of twisted shit in the name of survival, but it also is responsible for some attachments that cause feelings of tremendous joy for us.
 

My question is, should we really “kill” the Ego? Or transcend and integrate it..thus making it healthier and non corrupt? After all, Ego is God’s creation..just as deserving of Love like everything else in existence.
